Wyze Battery Cam Pro firmware 1.4.1.2288 is releasing with Smart Detection Events in Event Recording, turning on/off the spotlight from sunset to sunrise when motion is detected, and a fix for battery drop all requiring app 2.49+.
After updating the firmware, the spotlight now turns on for any motion, even before sunset. I rebooted the camera and toggled the setting on and off and it still activates the light before sunset. Still happy that I’ll have a bright spotlight deterrent at night though.
After I saw the fix list for firmware version 1.4.1.2288 , I ordered one off Amazon today.
THANKS WyzeJasonJ and everyone else on the Wyze team for all you do for us!
I have a flowerbed away from the house that I will be putting this one in.
I almost feel sorry for the cats, dogs, raccoons, skunks, deer, possums, armadillos, foxes, and the occasional Sasquatch that frequently leave excrement.
After updating Battery Cam Pro to version 1.4.1.2288 I cannot view device info and cannot disable the Spotlight “Sunset to Sunrise” selection. Please resolve.
Jump to SD not working and SD card is grayed out
work around is to “Tap to start live stream” 1st
it’s like connection to camera is off till you do…
try going to Settings / Advanced Settings and change Power Saving mode to OFF. . go step back to Setting and do restart…
it seems to helped me … is started responding to change of settings and finally started recording clips… (not just stills)
you can turn Power Saving mode to ON. after you finish setup
WyzeJasonJ,
My new outdoor pro arrived today, and it is charging now. Setup was easy and firmware updated to 1.4.1.2288. The floating window works on it in the app too.
I’ll wait till it gets to 100% charged before I deploy it outside to start recording the animals at night.
It takes several hours of charging to get this thing from 41% (out of box) to 100%!
Thanks again!
After this update on 02/06, battery went from 3 months life to under a week. I’m watching battery drain with almost no events being recorded. Lost 25% over night. 2 cameras, 3 batteries.
After replacing the battery for the third time in about 10 days and a weekend to troubleshoot, pulled the camera down, removed from my collection in the app, reset the camera and spent the better part of 2 hours trying to re-add the camera back to my collection (repeatedly got connection time out) finally got the camera back up and running… Battery drain issue seems to be fixed, for now.
Did you have to change networks or anything? I am now in the never ending loop of retyping the password and trying to connect but no dice. I am getting a warranty replacement but would send it back if I could get the original working. Seems like a waste for Wyze to not resolve this and just send a replacement.
Technically, I did sync it into my secondary network (by accident) after about the first hour, but basically just took me 2 hours+ of just trying to connect to the intended network, Power cycling between attempts, and toggling attempts between Android and iOS. Then, It just randomly worked. Massive waste of time due to an update.
