Nope. At least it didn’t change my ability to connect via Cellular, I just tested it while I was a few miles away from home and it connected quickly. I have never had the issue but I wanted to check just to make sure I didn’t get added to the expanding list of users who can not connect via cell while away from home.

Thanks for updating the app. I have the android version, and next time you’re in there fixing stuff, there’s a consistent but low level annoyance.
Problem with android app: The option under ‘advanced’ settings to ‘record sound’ turns itself on regularly. I have to turn it off regularly. I never want to record sound so I never turn it on. I am not accidentally touching this option.
I haven’t determined a pattern of when this happens, so I’ll have to say it happens randomly until I learn otherwise.
Again, low level annoyance-type problem in the app. Other problems such as the app freezing and having to close/reopen probably have been previously reported.
Just got notice that Wyze has issued version 2.50.6.1 for IOS app and it has gotten rid of the hourly heading for each event!

Its possible that it gets enabled by just opening the app (when you open an app, the app code is run to set up everything you see and interact with and they might have some bug there like that - I’m a mobile app programmer). Leave the app closed for double the time and then open it and check if the last recordings have sound or not. If they don’t then its happening on app open (can be confirm if its now showing as enabled and recording after app open have sound).
Its also possible that the toggle is disconnected and showing as enabled when its not. This would cause no sound even when it looks “enabled”. I highly doubt this is what’s happening here.
Its also possible for some other setting or configuration to set it on but this one is more difficult to narrow down without the app’s source code. Just have to play around with things. I would think it could be this if its not the first one above.
As far as I’m aware, they don’t sync settings or pull them down from the internet so this is very unlikely here. (Should * this as many apps have auto backup which uses Google Backup to sync settings but I’m not getting into this and its not what I’m talking about here.)
Its also possible for settings values to get messed up after updates. Clearing app data or uninstalling/reinstalling fixes this. I don’t expect this to be the problem here but in theory it could be depending on what happens from a warm app start verses a cold app start (here I would expect that to be making the difference).
Some other possibilities can exist for settings to get set or change.

STill no fix! The the latest update does NOT fix the issue with SD card playback freezing on the OG cameras !!
And it is coming close to the deadline of being able to watch playback on those cameras using old (working) ios software b4 we have to update to the newer ios software that kills the ability to watch playback on the sd cards on the OG cams.
Where is update for this Wyze?! Please!
I did update on a spare ipad to the latest software & it still stops playing video playback on the OG cams. I just read comments on the latest 2 software updates & most everything I see is 1 star. Wyze is not istening to it’s customers & that’s really sad!
Somebody else posted about this problem back in August of 2021.
Apparently the default is for recording sound to be ‘on.’ I clear my app cache often, but just clearing the cache does not cause the sound option to be toggled ‘on’ so I haven’t a clue what is causing it. It happens even when there has been no firmware update.

Agreed, but at least it’s relatively easy to go back to an earlier version of the app, compared to reverting to an earlier version of firmware – at least for us Android users.
