ANOTHER UPDATE: Wyze Plug firmware 1.2.0.179 is being paused as we look into reports of connectivity not being improved by this update and plugs that stop responding after updating. Some regain function a day or two later but others are still unresponsive. If this has happened to you, please reach out to Wyze Customer Support.
UPDATE: We found some issues that we need to fix before the Cam Plus Lite flip so the 2.28 app release is delayed.
Wyze app 2.28 is releasing with Cam Plus Lite support and thumbnail Events for compatible cameras today! We also have Wyze Plug CFH firmware 1.2.0.179 going out with connectivity improvements.
In case you missed it, the previous Name Your Price feature that provided Person Detection for Wyze Cam v2 and Pan has been adjusted and rolled out to more customers and devices as Cam Plus Lite! Here are some key changes:
Eligible cameras now include all Wyze camera types other than video doorbells
Weâll recommend a payment amount based on devices but you can still set it to $0
Youâll be able to enroll compatible devices in the future as well even if you donât own them yet
Cameras that do not have a subscription such as Cam Plus Lite will be automatically transferred to a Basic Plan that includes thumbnails for Events instead of video clips
The app will be available for people starting tonight. But if you are otherwise having trouble enrolling in Cam Plus Lite, please donât hesitate to reach out to Wyze Customer Support!
Will the fix to the Android app promised back on July 25 be included in this release?

âNo worries, we have already identified this issue and our product engineers and developers are now working with an update on this. Since you have already given app logs, we have already sent these logs to them for review and possibly fix this on the backend. We are fully aware of this and we are already in the progress of releasing an update on this. As for now, we really need your patience.â
What is the default behavior for Wyze Cams with an SD card in them that are not signed up to Cam Plus Lite? Will the app still serve video clips stored locally even though they will no longer be backed up to the cloud? Or will the app only show the screenshot and require manual scrubbing to the time period?
@skst , I tried to search for your quote and I only found it in here quoted by you. Could you please give me more details about what fix youâre looking for?
@AndSpenRob, the microSD card Playback will still function as usual.
@cf7, this particular update is to enable Cam Plus Lite. Could you please tell me more about the offline issue youâre experiencing?
I updated two Wyze plugs (CFH) on 3/1 with the new PRODUCTION firmware, but one has already went offline (blinking). Firmware version 1.2.0.179 did NOT fix the issue with the plugs dropping offline. Unplugging and re-plugging it back in did not fix it either. I had to re-add it via the android app.
Note: Wyze Plug firmware 1.2.0.179 is being paused as we look into reports of connectivity not being improved by this update and plugs that stop responding after updating. Some regain function a day or two later but others are still unresponsive. If this has happened to you, please reach out to Wyze Customer Support.
Happy to. The quote was from the Wyze customer rep in my most recent ticket.
My Wyze Android app has been unable to play video from my Video Doorbell since 2 July 2021. It continually responds with âError (code 09): Failed to fetch the video from the cloud.â I can, however, âshareâ the event video with the Android VLC app, which downloads and plays it just fine. (The Wyze app can play video from my six other cameras fine. It is only the Video Doorbell event videos which will not play.)
The details of the issue are in the tickets I referenced:

Please let me know if you need additional information.
Good morning @UserCustomerGwen
I find it interesting if you go into this Beta thread; starting at post 7 you will find a lot of BETA testers that reported issues with WYZE Plug 2021 firmware version 1.2.0.179. Clearly that version had never resolved the disconnecting issue while in BETA. Yet for some reason well beyond my understanding, the firmware was pushed out as an official release. It even included release notes stating the problem was addressed.
Could you please help me understand why known bad firmware was released and touted as the fix?
I have a V3 camera that I updated and canât get it to reconnect. I even tried to manually re flash. After a few minutes the camera just reboots itself.
Yep just had one of my plugs running on the newest .179 firmware drop offline. Other 2 plugs still functioning normally. Will reset it and expect that to fix it. Really hoping Wyze comes up with a legit fix for these plugs soon. There just seems to be a connectivity issue with these plugs specifically. My Wyze cams, light strip, switches, and bulbs never drop offline.
This whole thank sucks. If I wanted to pay a subscription for every camera I would just use security monitoring. Also you want to sell something that does not work. Please stay with your core business model. Donât mess it up. I love using Wyze.
