Wyse Cam Pan v3. No Pan after latest update installed

I am the type to buy stuff and let it sit till one day I get the urge to put up. My V3 pan is working fine, following me or whatever is moving. Within the last month it says update available…I update to latest update. Now it no longer moves with any activity in the room. Is there a way to rollback the update? Is this an attempt to force users to subscribe?

Is “motion tracking” enabled? With the app updates there may have been a settings revert and it got disabled.

Not seeing that exact setting. Is that a option under a menu? I have gone into all of the options and am not seeing “Motion Tracking”?

@Eveready2622,

Make sure motion tracking is enabled as @Omgitstony suggested.

I have 3 pan Scan v3’s and have not seen the issue you are describing. I’m I’m in my living room waving at the camera and it is tracking me.

I see from your profile that your on IOS, I’m on Android. YMMV.

A bit more info please.

What app version are you on?

What firmware version are you on? I’m on 1318.

Have you cold started the camera (unplug > wait 10 seconds > plug in)?

By chance is "Detection Sensitivity* set to a low number, like 0-20?

Maybe other forum members on IOS can chime in with other suggestions.

Yep. If you go to the live view of the camera, then slide the menu just below the view to the side you will see the motion tracking settings. Green means it’s enabled. Gray is disabled.

Firmware is 1318. Have done all the normal stuff reboot, resync. Motion sensitivity @ 75, Motion tagging on. Have about a dozen Wyse cams so not my first one, just my first issue that defies logic.

I don’t use the feature but recently in the Facebook Core group there was a user that had this issue. Whereas an update of some sort reverted the setting.

Well *#$%. Learn something new every day. Did not ever realize that was a slide…65 years old and that is my first “DUH” in a while. That is the solution!! Thanks and have a wonderful day.

A final thought.

I was looking at @Omgitstony solution, which was right and said to self–how did @Eveready2622 miss this?

I went to the pan Scan v3 and looked at the layout. There is nothing in the UI to indicate that you should scroll.

If you are a casual user the scroll is not apparent. It just looks like four choices.

If your familiar with the camera then your memory kicks in and you remember to scroll.

Long winded way of saying an appropriately placed < and > would help the casual user.

I’m not sure that this rises to the level of a “Wishlist”. I’ll let others opine on that.

Thing is I have had security camera’s prior to IP camera, back when it required a DVR and port forwarding to see the cameras from the internet. I have also tend to be an early adopter so I have 1st releases of Wyse, Ring and Nest products, which is why I am kicking myself so hard. To use a word from my Children’s day, I appear like a Noob. I have been pwned. That is all…enjoy the balance of the day which ever time zone your are in. EDT soon to be EST as of next week.

@Eveready2622,

I’m a stickler for “intuitive”. I look at something on screen and it shoud be intuitive what I should do.

I was not implying that you were a casual user. I was acting as a casual user. If I worded that wrong I apologize.

Besides, us “youngsters” have to watch out for each other (you posted your 65, I’m 73). May we have decades more of doing what we’re doing :sunglasses: and enjoying it.
