Without CamPlus your cameras are worthless

When I first bought my cameras they worked great but as soon as my CamPlus free trial came to an end my cameras stopped being reliable. About 6months ago my friend’s car was taken from in front of my house and all the camera recorded was the taillights of the flatbed speeding away but it missed the car being put on the flatbed and last night someone broke into my house and stole 3 laptops and walked right out my front door and the camera missed the whole thing. So for anyone looking to invest in Wyze be aware that if you don’t buy into the monthly/annual subscription service then you’d be better off buying a fake/dummy camera instead. They’re just as reliable

Users who opt to use their cameras without any Cam Plus or Cam Plus Lite subscription usually have an SD Card inserted to capture video. Since the cam will only upload a thumbnail snapshot or video every 5 minutes without a subscription or with Cam Plus Lite, the SD Card records every minute and motion event.

Have you tried Cam Plus Lite? You can name your own price including free.

I have CamPlus lite at the “free” price and I also have an SD Card installed in the camera

Do you have the SD card set to Continuous Recording or Events Only?

It is very possible then that all the activity that was missed in your cloud recording “Events” happened during the 5 minute cooldown between upload Events.

However, your SD Card “Playback” should have full video of any motion events during that time.

Have you reviewed the SD Card “Playback” video?

I’ve been using many wyze cams with “high endurance” microSD cards for prolly 5 years. I would assess your claim as “incorrect”.

Agreed. Each user has their own minimum requirements that they have to consider individually. Some are fine with snapshots, some are fine with a 5 minute cooldown, some are ok with 12s videos, some are fine recording motion events to the SD, some like to record continuously. It’s all about how the cam is being used and what the expectations are.
