Why is nest hub generation 2 not allowing camera to show up

I have a 3-year-old generation 2 nest hub that I’ve been using right along when someone pushes my wyze doorbell v2 button to show up on the nest hub.

I have factory reset the hub and uninstalled the Home twice and re-entered everything and put my triggers back in there like they used to be and still no luck. All it does is announced that someone’s at front door with a little white flash of the screen. It does work when I ask the hub to show me the front doorbell. Does anyone have any ideas?

I suspect that Google has been tinkering again and maybe broke something. In the past, I’ve done something similar to what you’re describing with a Google Home Hub (1st Gen) and Wyze Video Doorbell v2, but I’ve had my Video Doorbell v2 disconnected for a while, as I’d like to redesign my 3D-printed mount for it. Looking through my own posts, I can see that automations using Google Home Household Routines to stream a Wyze Cam to a Home Hub were failing for me back in April, and I still attribute that to Google.

If you can share some details about the timing of your issue and the kinds of Wyze Automations and/or Google Home Routines you’re using, then that might shed some light, but my first thought is still that this is because of something Google has done.

I joined the Google site and here’s what they told me I don’t believe it.

Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand your Nest Hub 2nd gen is not showing your Wyze doorbell cameras when someone pushes the button. However, it does announce someone at the front door, and there is a white flash of the screen before it announces. I’m glad to share more details with you. I appreciate all the troubleshooting you’ve already done with your Nest Hub 2nd gen. Based on the information you’ve provided, it seems the problem is with the Wyze camera itself. I recommend contacting Wyze Support directly, as they are best equipped to help you troubleshoot their camera. Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions. Best regards, Gabriela
