Where's my badge? 📛

@Crease imagineering badges over here  so I put in a coupla orders:

Orders are one thing,

…another.

A Latin phrase should come to mind but I’m coming up short. :man_shrugging:

The phrase that immediately comes to mind is from one of Henry Beard’s books on the subject and would likely violate Community Guidelines.

@Crease @Antonius

You guys are gonna have to trust me on this. In some odd way the linked post  is responsive to both your comments.

And at the bottom of it are two of my favorite Captured on Wyze sound clips ever. :raised_hands:

I hadn’t heard them in months and months and months. What a pleasure to come across them now. :relieved:

(It was a tough weekend and it’s weird that its being displaced so fast.)

(We shouldn’t pretend that this is normal.)

I devised one recently when replying in another topic to @dave27 (who I imagine is :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: because of my dragging into yet another :poop: show), but I’ve been away from the language too long to be certain of my grammar.

Internet Goethe said be bold and unexpected things will leap to your aid. :kangaroo:

Internet Gœthe seems like it’d be about as reliable as a backseat driver, armchair quarterback, or dime-store psychiatrist.

Maybe there should be some kind of recognition for when a user hits 1337 posts, given/received, consecutive Forum visit days, or whatever. :man_shrugging:

Since :frog: seems to enjoy nominating me for odd jobs, I’ll return the favor by suggesting this to @peepeep.

Actually, I’ve found this to be true no matter who said it.

So I should plough on with my :wastebasket: attempts at Latin?

I don’t know. Does it make you feel alive!

No need to over-complicate.

Do that thing.

Does writing silly phrases in a dead language make me feel alive? Maybe not so much, but there’s some pleasure to be derived from the journey of rekindling or gaining knowledge. Plus, since it’s a classical language, Latin can help to class up an otherwise crude turn of phrase. That appeals to my inner-12-year-old sense of humor.
