What would you turn into a Wyze Cam?

Why don’t you guys fix the problems with the products you already have, then worry about making a birdhouse.

Because just fixing existing problems does not bring any revenue and revenue is what keeps companies afloat and around.

I’d have to agree with your statement, but bad product reviews cost money. You would think a business venture would know this.

Don’t get me wrong, in no way I am defending Wyze for bad products, even though personally I haven’t encountered anything bad with the products I own. I know people complain here but from what I see most of the problems are connectivity issues. To be fair, I don’t think Wyze can fix those issues. The onus is on the end user.

Connection problems are easy, but when you have an actual issue with say a performance issue, all they want to do is warranty it. In my experience, it’s just a way out.

I would love to have objects that camouflage indoor cameras. A book on a bookshelf, plant pot, picture frame, or decorative bird house would be very helpful.

Hi Dave, I would like to see Wyze get into the car/ dash cam arena. There’s a lot of manufacturers out there and a lot of them are selling pure junk. I’ve researched a lot of them and haven’t made a decision yet. I think this is a case with a lot of people but I also think Wyze is a trusted name and could probably do it better than anyone.

Dave, I’m always looking for ways to hide my wyze cams in objects you might normally find in a house / room. I’ve hidden a few of them in things like a teddy bear sitting on a shelf that watches over my living room and I’ve hidden one in a radio watching over a hallway. Maybe this is a area Wyze could branch out to.

Inside my beehives!
Those ladies are always up to something.
It would need to be tiny to fit between frames and have some method of cleaning of replacing the lens as honeybees cover everything in propolis.
You could even use AI to recognize the queen and perhaps spot/count the pesky varroa mites that plague the colonies these days.
I already have them in my chicken coop.
And I have one in my attic, so that if it detects a’pet’ I can get right on that unwelcome visitor before too much damage is done.

Maybe something like an Endoscopic camera?

I would put a Wyze cam in a 3-D printer, a laser printer, and in a CNC router, if it could stand the sawdust from the cutting. Then set the cameras up for time lapse to see the builds!

I wonder how much utility there would be to adding a camera to something like Wyze Gun Safe as a means to capture more data for the access control history, possibly for unlocking access itself (depending on where it would be mounted and how it would be implemented). I think something like this goes hand-in-hand with @WyzeMatt’s desire for a camera integrated into a smart lock.

I would develop a reverse image camera for use in a car, boat, or RV. Most larger boats and RV’s have their own network you can leverage. I use two on the back of a boat. One to watch the swim platform when backing, the other to see what is coming up behind us. Unfortunately boats are on the wrong side without reverse image.

This is easily done in software; all current Wyze camera models should be able to do this without hardware changes.

Thank you for the reply. People have stated that before. Do you have the exact procedure?

No, I do not, but I do know that some Wyze cameras are capable of time-lapse. 3-D printing could probably be recorded using an OG or similar camera as-is on a tripod type mount, but more to the original question, a camera more designed around this type of use would be nice, especially for CNC and routing, where you have potential contamination and moisture issues.

Apologies if I gave the impression Wyze cameras are capable of doing this now. What I meant is that Wyze can easily add the capability with a firmware/app release. There is the “Rotate Image 180°” now that’s very similar in function. Switching the image left and right, is even simpler.

No problem. There are several posts on here regarding mirror image requests. Must not be important to them. That’s ok. Will just continue the search for a company that provides that along with the bells and whistles that Wyze provides. When I find one, I will shelve the three Wyze cameras I have. I need a couple more, but won’t buy anymore. Arlo has the same problem. Haven’t checked the many others out there yet.
