Does ANYONE have ANY IDEA what the heck this is??
Captured this on a V4 in Night vision, edited with iMovie to get a better, closer, slower look.
You mean what you just posted without any images or videos? No idea.
hmmmm… I know I attached a video… Let me try again… THANKS for bring the to my attention!
its there, now… Thanks again!
I have no idea, but now I’m curious about the raw video.
I downloaded the night vision recording from my V4, and used iMovie to zoom and slow it down… I did NO OTHER processing to the raw footage. This spic shows it in scale.
This is the original raw footage, just cropped to see it better.
@Crease The V4 is mounted just below the roof tucked under the eves, 11 feet from the ground. Can Crawfish be living in Storm Water drains? That is what this thing looks like, but I thought they only liv ed in the ocean. Apparently not!
You think that’s a bird bath, but it’s really an alien ship disguised as a bird bath.
I don’t know how close you are to water, but I’ve caught crawfish in freshwater lakes. I s’pose that’s as good a guess as any, though I’m not sure how quickly they move on land. When I’ve caught them individually, it’s often been by positioning a large cup behind one so that when it uses the tail flick to jet backwards it goes right into the vessel I’m trying to use to capture it. I don’t know how rapidly they can travel in a rostral direction out of water.
In some of the frames, it gives the appearance of a backwards frog, just based on the highlighted morphology. I’m stumped with this so far.
Britanica says: " Crayfish, common in streams and lakes, often conceal themselves under rocks or logs. They are most active at night, when they feed largely on snails, insect larvae, worms, and amphibian tadpoles; some eat vegetation."
I bet that’s what this critter is.
Or fairly big scorpion
Here is a weird video I saved from last year. Some kind of flying bug in my garage with night vision on.
WOW, that is strange!!!
MYSTERY SOLVED! What an Optical Illusion!
What was actually a spider on a web up close to the camera, appears to be something much larger, on the ground. Especially since it just made a b-line running, but here is is obvious what this mysterious thing actually was! You can see at the end of this short clip, when it runs in a straight line, that is what we saw in the original clip!
Oh, that makes a lot more sense! Thanks for providing the additional context and solution.
With this two-dimensional imagery, it’s so easy to think that something is scurrying across the ground instead of being significantly closer to the lens. Nice work.
It’s obvious in this clip. Fortunately, I have my SD card recording always, and was able to scrub through to find more footage that made it clear what was going on! Thanks for participating in today’s Mystery Theater!
I have lived in my house for 34 years. Started using Wyze v3 cameras in 2022. Make me wonder what strange stuff I’ve missed before getting Wyze cameras.
Looks like a frog
