So I had just finished tending my birdfeeder when I noticed this lady pushing a wheelbarrow down the street. I did a bit of a double take then walked inside.
This afternoon I took my trash cans out to the curb and noticed one of my “do not mow” signs was MIA. A quick search of the SD card in WYZE v3 cam found the thief. For the rest of the story, read the YouTube description.

I don’t have trouble with people stealing my signs.
I do use my Wyze cameras to see who left their dog’s business on my lawn.

My lawn was filling up with yellow spots, one section in particular was huge and won’t even grow new grass at this point until it has flushed out. Started around when new neighbors moved in with a dog. I set up my “spare” OG and sure enough, every morning the 8AM “mega pee” was on my lawn.
Asked them nicely to try to keep them on the “pee strip” of grass in the sidewalk. They ended up just dragging the dog further to the next neighbor’s lawn. Whatever, not my problem anymore.
The poop doesn’t bother me too much as long as it is cleaned up well. S*it happens as they say and with dogs it sometimes happens very quickly. But you’d think that if your dog pees in the same spot every morning, and that spot has turned into a huge yellow/brown area surrounded by nice green grass, a lightbulb might go off in your head? Then there are those occasional ones that just leave the poop too.
I’m curious about the “do not mow” - does the city come by and hack it up or something?
I’ve been trying to train the rabbits to mow it evenly for me, but they seem to have ADHD.
You’re close, it’s the crew hired by my association that basically destroyed my lawn over the past several years. You can see how great the neighbors yard looks on the other side of the yellow caution tape, next to the big green comcast tower.
I got sick of complaining about it. You know what they say, if you don’t like how someone else does it, do it yourself. So, I bought myself a used push lawnmower and a few do not mow signs. I then planted some grass seed and have been watering it regularly. My yard has not looked this good in well over a decade.
The unfortunate thing is I still pay my full association dues each month. Oh well, it only takes me like 20 minutes a week to mow my little yard.
My yard has a lot of big roots from huge/old maple trees. The association crews combination of speed and low mower decks results in what you see in my neighbors yard. Huge bare spots of 100% exposed soil.
Ah makes sense. I wouldn’t want them mowing my lawn either, I’m sure they’re the cheapest bidder and they mow super low so they don’t have to come as much.
Mine used to be pretty much flawless but after a few years of having to do lots of dog pee repair (even before this new dog) plus the hot dry summers we’ve had the last couple of years, I settle for “good enough”. Still better than all the others around.
I don’t mind if someone picks up after their dog, but almost nobody in my neighborhood picks it up.
Thankfully, I’m rarely getting any anymore this year because the ex-stray we adopted had decided to start chasing dogs that pass by our property. 
Every single dog so far that I’ve seen is terrified of him and runs away screaming. The first time I saw it I stopped him and chased him and caught him by the tail and then scooped him up to save the dogs. After that I realized he’s the reason I don’t get dogs leaving 
in my yard anymore, and since all the owners kept leaving it for me to walk in or me to cleanup, I decided you just let my cat go back to telling dogs to get off our property fast. 
I’ve never seen him actually attack a dog yet, but he will hiss and growl and charge and he looks terrifying and they just want to leave so he lets them, but he’s definitely not scared of them. He definitely would fight if they they didn’t submit/leave it entered my lawn.
Guard cat finally keeps my lawn clean. I’ve noticed some regulars now walk their dog on the other side of the street 
I love dogs. Always had them growing up. Walked mine a lot. Always picked up after them. Drives me crazy nobody seems to do it anymore.
One of the neighbors had a small black cat that every dog was terrified of. She’d chase them and if they turned would do the big back arch and hiss. No fear. Luckily my area is pretty good about cleaning up, but I know there are plenty of places where it is a big issue.
Funny tangent, there was a massive sewage leak into a main river here that feeds lots of beaches before ending up at the ocean. Something like 40-50 million gallons of raw sewage over several days. This was right before July 4th. The governor went on TV and said the beaches are safe. Not only did that spawn a bunch of Jaws memes of the guy saying “we will NOT close the beaches for July 4th”, but then the organization that oversees/protects another river in the area posted on facebook about how dog poop gets into the river and causes diseases. Kind of poor timing when the governor is saying 50 million gallons of sewage is not an issue, but these guys are saying some dog poop is.

I mean, he doesn’t look scary to me…he’s the smallest of our cats, a little runt weighing under 8lbs. But he scares dogs for some reason.

He loves people though. He’s adopted lots of the neighbors who love him following them around while they do yardwork. 
I should’ve downloaded some of the videos of him chasing dogs away. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that. He’s surprisingly intimidating and it’s kind of funny to see dogs panic that a tiny cat isn’t running away or scared.
I’m just happy that it means dogs (or rather their owners) are leaving stuff in my yard anymore. That’s one of the only reasons I don’t have a dog anymore. I don’t like all the high maintenance, including having to pick up after them. For my cats, I just have a robot litter box and only have to empty the trash bag like once a month even for multiple cats. Even their food and water are automated to not need to be touched for a month. Nearly no maintenance…other than them desperately begging to be petted, treats, and cuddles or laying nearby, but I don’t mind that most of the time. I’d love to have a dog if someone else took care of the food, water and waste cleanup. Maybe I’ll get one once I get one of those new chore robots that can do all the stuff I don’t want to do. 
Anyone seen those? I know a guy getting the new “NEO Home Robot” that should be shipped to him this year ($499/mo to rent or $20K to own). If it will take care of a dog’s food, water, and waste (in addition to being a dedicated cleaner and other tasks bot), maybe I’ll get a dog again. If it will clean up the dog waste in my front yard, maybe I’ll train my guard cat to go back to not chasing away other dogs
Wyze did say a while ago that they were also working on a chore robot. I wonder how that’s coming along or still on the table. Can we train it to stand in the front yard with a hose and spray any dog that starts to squat? or just spray any owners that don’t pick up after their dog? j/k
I am with you, that cat does not look all that threatening to me either. It has to be all about his ‘go get em’ personality.
