Weather forecast

My suggestion is to show the weather forcast in the home section of the app. Small thing, but while traveling, it’d be nice to know what the weather is doing at home without having to do a separate search.

Thanks!

How about a Wyze weather station? Maybe something like the Tempest.

Lol that’s a little excessive seeing as how I could use any free weather app. Likewise, all wyze would need to do is partner with, and incorporate one as well

The reason I have not bought a Tempest yet is because I found neighbors that have a Tempest and I can see their weather data. Check out the Tempest Weather Map and see if anyone near you has their weather data online.

This is excellent! Thank you for sharing! I see that there’s some overlap between that and the nearby weather stations that are available on Weather Underground, a feature I’ve used when setting up temperature-based automations with Wyze using IFTTT.

There are so many apps that already do this that I can’t imagine Wyze would add that to their own. I don’t even use a separate weather app; I just have an appropriate browser shortcut on my Android devices’ home screens, though Google and Motorola (depending on which device I’m using at a given time) already show some weather information on the home screen by default.

One thing to note about Wyze and weather is that the Watch has a Weather app on it, and you can set that to a static location (so it doesn’t use location services and follow you), which is what I do, so when I’m traveling my Watch 47 still shows me the current weather and abbreviated forecast information at my home.

If you really want to try advancing your original post as something you’d like to see Wyze do, then you can try posting a new Wishlist topic, though I’d suggest looking through at least a basic search first.

Weather information is unreliable in my area. The weatherman must use a dartboard in his forecast.

I wish they used supercomputers like those they use with hurricane tracking. It is amazing how their hurricane tracking has improved.

I do like weather radar. I guess my phone already does everthing I need. Why duplicate that on a Wyze cam?

I like this site. I find it to be the most accurate for the next 2 - 3 days (even though they forecast about 7 days out). Click on the map for your area’s forecast.

Where I live some of the local TV meteorologists will sometimes do brief walk-throughs of different models when delivering their forecasts, especially during severe thunderstorm and tornado season. :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain::tornado: One guy in particular is a real weather nerd and seems to enjoy chasing storms and doing remotes. He’s fun.

Or in the app, yeah. I agree. We already have so many options!

That’s what I use the most, too, and it’s what my browser shortcuts (that I mentioned earlier ) point to. They used to actually include the housing development where I live in their search results (as in I could start typing the name and it would be one of the autocomplete options, which I liked better than just giving the city name), but that changed at some point, so I just remember a few select ZIP codes for doing lookups (of things besides weather). The ZIP just gets translated to a “MapClick” URL anyway. :man_shrugging:

Wow I remember putting that request in for a Wyze Weather Station. But now over 5-years later still nothing and I have moved on.

It is nice to see that other people are still asking for the same thing.
