Hi All!
My name is Herman and I’m a Product Manager at Wyze. We’re looking into Wyze customers’ experience with internet networks and we’d love to hear from you. The information gathered in this survey will only be used for improving Wyze products and will not be used for anything else. The survey should take 7 minutes or less to complete.
I want to upgrade, it’s been years and it’s time. But I’m holding out until 6E is ready and out there. I don’t want to spend the money for a Wifi 6 router when Wifi 6E is right around the corner.
Wi-Fi 6E adds support for 6GHz wireless spectrum, for faster wireless speeds and lower latencies than previous generations, but you’ll need a new router and Wi-Fi 6E-compatible devices to take advantage of those new airwaves.
The opening of the 6GHz band is the biggest spectrum addition to Wi-Fi since 1989. The jump from 5GHz to 6GHz might not sound like much, but it essentially quadruples the amount of airwaves (14 additional 80MHz channels, and seven additional 160MHz channels) available for routers and smart devices. That means less signal interference.
It may be a couple of years before you really need 6E. But like I said, I don’t upgrade routers too often. My current one is a free ASUS T-Mobile router which hasn’t seen an update in years. Buy a 6 now and in a couple of years buy a new 6E router when you can make use of it is an option. 6Ghz has the same issues as 5Ghz and that is the range and ability to go through walls. Not as good as 2.4Ghz Network. It’s why a lot of Smart Devices are 2.4Ghz only. It’s for the longer range.
