It has been quite a while, but we have a new volunteer Moderator.
We are pleased to announce that @Crease has agreed to join the moderator team. @Crease has been helping us as a Maven for a almost a year and a half now and has been really great at helping out in the community and escalating issues when he sees them.
Woot! Welcome to the Mod Squad @Crease and thank you for volunteering your time and brain to help keep our community a friendly, welcoming place for answers, ideas and discussions! Whatcha gonna do with that big raise? Please donāt delete me.
Iām guessing the mods chose you so you would stop suggesting they fix threads and tags, etc, and now you can just do it yourself?
Iāve long appreciated all you do to help keep this forum clean and well-organized and a great place to spend time and give great support and ideas to users and to Wyze and you figure out new things we can do in the forums all the time. You were basically already a mod before you were a mod. You make an EXCELLENT Moderator! They couldnāt have made a better choice here for all of us.
IIRC, I think you said I was the one who convinced you to try out the Wyze forums (from the Discord server) and now youāre hear and doing awesome helping everyone outā¦sooā¦Iām just going to take a little credit for āFindingā you. j/k
Thanks for everything you do here. It is recognized and appreciated!
I appreciate the vote of confidence. Iād like to see that happen again if it was within my scope.
I was gonna say pretty much the same thing, actually. Let this be a lesson to other members of the community: If you ask enough questions and flag enough posts, they might just demote you and say, āFix it yourself!ā
I donāt recall saying that, because I had already lurked here over a year prior to joining and posting[1], but you definitely get credit for directing me from Discord to a helpful post here when I asked there about getting Google Home announcements from my (then new) Video Doorbell v2, and I did become active after checking that out. Thanks again for that!
I had noticed you had already been in training for mod several weeks. The moderator shield beside your name told me you were soon considering the promotion.
Yeah, thatās a weird one. I donāt think theyāll give me access to the code or the administrator settings, so I think Iām just gonna have to continue to live with this bug for now.
Iāve been sure that some have noticed, but only Carver directly asked me about it. I guess the is pretty much a giveaway.
That may be. Perhaps the bug will change my profile picture to something that indicates a time of mourning.
Yeah, the team has been very accommodating and tried to help me make it not too obvious while Iāve been learning how to get some things done, but I think we can do only so much to that end within the framework Discourse allows.
Didnāt you read @R.Goodās mention about finding a āfixā for why it changes? Itās such a strange bug, man. If it was a higher-priority issue, then Iād consider logging it and opening a ticket, but Iād prefer that they devote resources to a unified dark theme and landscape mode throughout the app experience, and I think youād agree.
