I have several Wyze cam Outdoor v1 and v2 cameras installed on many of my clients. More than 500.
Every so often (between 1 and 2 months) the smart detection stops working. I have identified that it could be every time the cameras is charged, but i´m not so sure…
What happens is that it starts detecting people as “motion”. I mean it doesn’t label people as “people” anymore but labels them as “motion”.
I can walk in front of the camera 20 times and every time it will detect me as “motion” and therefore it does not send me the corresponding notification.
As you can see, this is a major security problem! They are false-negatives!
This happens only with the Wyze Cam Outdoor. The wired cameras do not have this problem.
I have checked the settings hundreds of times and they are correct. I have been working with Wyze cameras for 3 years.
The only way I have found to temporarily fix the problem is to remove the camera from the app and re-add it.
Does anyone else have this problem and have you found the solution?
This problem has been going on for over a year.
