Rousing!
To those who don’t know me, I am not being sarcastic: I DO find ![]()
Aweigh rousing and have honored it and Navy Man elsewhere on the site. That is all. ![]()

Here is one that I watch from beginning to end which is rare for someone with OCDP
And another
I like the visuals in that first video, and even though I think there are much better recordings of the second piece I’m always partial to Gershwin. Good picks.
I’ll give that a listen, too. I think the first recording I ever heard was from the Columbia “Great Performances” series with Leonard Bernstein.
I spent good money to see George Winston in concert in the 80s and literally could not stay awake. No one else in my party would admit it, but I think they were asleep, too. ![]()
Are people speed-listening ‘slow’ music now the way they do podcasts?
Slow music composers are inspired by something different.

George Winston
I have some of his music around here someplace,
Mine is on cassette. ![]()
Mine also .
Chet Baker was inspired by something different. Look up the album, Chet Baker Sings. ![]()

Um…. ![]()
Sometimes when someone shares something with me (like a link to a song video on YouTube via SMS) I may or may not watch/listen at 1.25× speed. I feel like I should watch/listen to something that’s shared with me as a courtesy (I feel obligated), but I might not want to consume it in real time. It really does depend on the particular content for me.

Podcasts I usually listen to at 1.5× speed.
Look up the album, Chet Baker Sings.
I think I’ve listened to it before. Regardless, I’m streaming it now on YouTube Music. Thinking about Chet Baker still reminds me of The Talented Mr. Ripley.

Slow music players, too, I think. When someone is really skilled or talented in this way, it’s like he’s saying, “There’s time. Sit back and listen. I want to tell you a story.” Here’s a short example, I think:
I think that one fits this request:
It would be cool if everyone would post a song that moves them. Makes you well up
or beam radiantly
or whatever.
I like how that one can relax me or make me smile or feel wistful. I also like how it appeared on a Wynton Marsalis album but that cut is solo Ellis. It’s just so sweet and to the point.
At least you’re honest!
In real life I can talk real fast. But I don’t think I should have to. But most of the time I do. Or risk someone looking at a TV monitor over my shoulder. ![]()
Husband/wife guitar ‘duet’. [Tico Tico no Fubá - Duo Siqueira Lima - 4 Hands] You have to watch the hands to really appreciate the performance.
Touches @TomG 's (though I guess it’s not strictly classical) and @ssummerlin 's OP. ![]()
Chet Baker Sings
I’m still listening to this, but different songs keep taking me to detours of other recordings of those songs (other things I’ve heard before and want to hear again). This was a good recommendation. ![]()
Here is a friend of mine that did a Ted Talk on Classical music 10 years ago. You may enjoy his perspective.
This is a good friend. ![]()
