Finally after going back and forth with 5 Wyze customer support staff, all of which kept saying my V3 was outside the warranty and couldn’t be replaced, the 6th person is replacing it.
When a company says in the product advertising that a camera and handle any weather conditions thrown at it, then it should do just that and condensation or dust shouldn’t be an issue. And this certainly shouldn’t happen with a 2 year old camera and then be denied warranty replacements!
I’m curious if you spoke to a person at Wyze or used chat support? I used chat support and was told they would replace my V3 but then was emailed saying my 2 year old V3 was outside the warranty and it wouldn’t be replaced. It took 5 more emails of going back and forth before they finally said they would replace my V3 camera…as a one time exception of course.
My siren is now working so all is well but the cam is not totally water proof when it comes to being subjected to three weeks of rivers of rain! It never rains in California, it pours! True 'dat! Keeping the questionable cam inside.
While it’s true that the camera isn’t “water proof”, Wyze literally has an advertising video showing a lot of water being dumped on the V3 camera. My V3 wasn’t even close to being drenched like that as it was under a back porch eave, yet still got condensation and dust under the lens.
I was going to do that with mine but it just looked like too much work. Little did I know it took way more work to finally get Wyze to replace my camera for free. Sure doesn’t seem like this camera is IP65 rated. Just for grins I plugged this old V3 back in, since the condensation is gone now but the video looks terrible, there is a film under the lens from the water. Guess I’ll be plugging in the new V3 and if I have time tear the old one apart.
