Is there a way to use an app to watch live Wyze cam on a smart tv, like a ROKU tv, or using a FireStick?
Thanks!
You can use fire TV or fire stick either one because they are Alexa enabled as long as youâre willing to use Alexa. All you have to say is Alexa show me X camera
You can only view one camera at a time
yes⌠BUT only with the U.S. Alexa SkillâŚ
Well Iâm in the United States. I only have Alexa on my phone. So I am sorry but I canât answer that question you would have to try it yourself and see if it works wherever you are located. Let us know how it works out
You do need to remember that Wyze is only authorized to sell in the United States and Puerto Rico. So they are probably only integrated with Alexa in the United States and Puerto Rico
Wrong - they also sell in Canada - I am in Canada and have 2 cameras that I can view on my Aleza âShowâ screen, just by saying "Alexa view âCAMERA NAMEâ "
Works great!
Wyze only sells to US and Puerto Rico. If you go to the Wyze site it will not sell to you in Canada unless they have just recently changed their policy. Amazon will sell to you in Canada though and Iâm sure other resellers will too
As far as I know the Wyze Alexa Skill will allow you to view any camera ( including cameras shared with you ) that you have in the Wyze app. I have 10 cameras and I can view any of them on my show or Firestick. You can only view 1 camera at a time but you can ask Alexa to view any camera you have. This also works with my Ring cameras ( with the Ring Alexa Skill ).
True, but unfortunately Alexa does not allow you to include Ring or Wyze camera viewing (or Ring commands) in a Routine. Iâve already Amazon to include this feature, but more people asking may speed up the process.
I think they are working on it, I see a lot of discussion in the developer forums but itâs a ways from release yet.
You can cast your phone display to a smart TV with mira or chrome cast. If you group your cameras you can watch 3 at a time.
Bummer. Was really hoping there was a way to use the app. Lag time is such that even if you have it already showing, the person would likely have come and gone before it shows up on the screen.
I use a Logitech Express, with Alexa capability, to control my TV (LG Nanocell). When I press the âspeak into buttonâ on the Logitech remote control, it suggests I say âshow drivewayâ, for example. When I do that, the remote responds that it doesnât support cameras. Has anyone been successful with using the Logitech Express to show Wyze cameras? Or, does anyone know of efforts to effect that possibility?
There is Google Nest Hub and Google Chromecast functionality to serve this purpose. I say to a google smart assistant appliance âHey G show me Xcamera on Ydisplayâ or âShow me the driveway on Monitorâ
Prereqs: Google home app with WYZE connection, Wyzecam v2+
I use the Logitech elite remote. I have been in contact with Logitech several times about integrating wyze into their system. The email I got back was that at this time they were not adding any more companies. They were trying to perfect the existing system that they had and they had no timeline as to when they would start adding more companies/devices to the system.
I have no issues viewing my camera with Google home. Not sure why some say you can only use alexa
I cannot use my nest home hub nor my Chromecast to view my Wyze cameras. All they do is buffer like crazy. I once got an image for about 2 seconds but thatâs it. Iâve tried removing the accounts, updating firmware and software. Power cycling each device, nothing. I gave up.
I have no issues viewing an HD feed or a group of 4 cams with Google home to any of my smart TVs or using Google Assistant on my phone to view the same HD stream through one of my Google Chromecast Ultras.
I do however have the same issues as reported by many when trying to stream to my Google Chromecast (3rd Generation). It buffers for 30-60 seconds, then displays, but only for a few minutes. I had the same issue when trying to stream to my old Sharp smart TV (which I no longer use). I think this problem is mainly related to the inability of phone, streaming device, TV and/or WiFi to keep up with and process the video feed(s).
For what its worth, I started, and had success with, a Wyze Cam Pan, a TCL Roku TV, an Amazon Fire TV Cube and the tinyCam Pro app purchased from Amazon. After set-up this configuration currently allows me to voice launch the tinyCam app on the cube (âAlexa, launch tinycamâ) and monitor/watch continuous live Wyze cam on the tv that the cube is attached to.
I have one nice view of my street and the sky from a window. I went on to purchase refurbished/renewed Amazon cubes and 40" 1080p televisions to keep the cost down and set up 3 of these in my house showing front door, carport, and street.
