This is the best way to turn Wyze big fans onto Wyze disappointed customers.
If it’s an April fools, it’s not funny…
If it’s not April fools for a tech company they could do better, I was a big fan and backer for a lot of the new releases but this is a bad experience as a buyer, on the first try I was able to add to the cart and then timed out on the payment to finally display an error page, on the 2 other tries, everything was gone in the second, how can this be possible? do I need an atomic clock to not miss the first few microseconds of the preorder slot?

It is not clear in the ad, if anyone can help. Can this car be controlled remotely, by 4G for example, from another city, or just by Wifi Direct, with the need to be close it? In other words, does it connect to the home’s wifi network, or just directly to the cell phone?
unfortunately no, it connects directly to your phones wifi and needs to be in range of it to work.

It creates its own network from what I gather. Once connected to app no WiFi needed to control it.
So this is not a drone car? just rc ?

I have no idea, I really wanted one that was remote accessed from off network that could roam the house and give you views of everything from wherever you are, then go back to a charging station - or even go on a pre programmed route like a century and report if anything has changed… guess we will just have to hope for something in the future

They could easily update that in the future.
Got one finally on this drop. Try to get it in your cart and the next hour, 30 second before the drop start clicking complete checkout and I got mine 30ish seconds before 11:00 PT.

Exactly, that was what I wanted.
Maybe a lot of people are buying this thinking that the car can also connect to WIFI home network, and be controlled remotely. That’s how almost all other Wyze products work: cams, plugs, bulbs, sprinklers, robot vaccum, etc.
They could release a new product, but i don’t think this model could do what we want… from what i have seen - it would require some form of radar or scanning to not run into things, as well as onboard memory for logging everything (especially for a century mode), and being able to charge by driving onto/into something would require most likely a wireless charging option. All of these things require more advance hardware than is available here. I would caution anyone buying this with the sole hope of adding these features via software update.

Either way, for $50 it seems like a fun toy!
Got one this time around as well. Started trying about 30secs early and got it in the cart. Checking out was still a pain with “We’ll be back soon” pages but a lot of refreshing finally did it.
Buy a bunch? Can’t even get one !!!

KKKHHHAAANNN my Amazon session timed out in the middle of checking out and kicked me out of the order process!!! Ok so maybe 38th times the charm!
