Agreed! Bluestacks is a resource vampire! I’d love to stop using it.

What version of the wyze app do you have working in Arc Welder? I click Add your APK, select the wyze apk and nothing happens.

I just tried 2.12.9 and 2.11.40 and got the same result.
I then tried Instagram and got the same thing, it wouldn’t install either.

The developer abandoned arc welder :frowning:

No doubt merely a coincidence unless you gave them your Google credentials, or gave them your Google email address and had a weak password or one re-used from a compromised site.

Of course, if you downloaded the program from somewhere other than bluestacks.com, there is always the chance you got a version with some malware attached to it.

A web portal to view recorded videos/events would be awesome. Looking forward to this feature!

Okay – It has been six months and I have a good Windows 10 PC setup for 6 Wyze Cams around my home. The process runs around 15 to 20% CPU resources and around 500 MB memory. I have a two monitor setup. One monitor displays “TinyCam Pro” running on “Bluestack” displaying the 6 Wyze Cams. It took some fine tuning but now it works great. No camera drops. The one thing I did to stabilize the camera connections is to enable “IGMP snooping” in my router. I adjusted a lot of the Blue stack settings and I have a graphics card that takes on a lot of the display work. My GPU use runs around 5 to 10%. I also set CPU to 1, Ram to 4GB and FPS to 20. If you want any more details let me know and I will post it.

Yes, please post specifics. Very interested!! Thanks!

Very interesting! Had not played with that one for this before.

That’s exactly I’ve been setting up emulators - little CPU, max RAM (but it never seems to use all that much) and a slow, distinctly “non video game” frame rate to match the Wyze cams.

What are the specs for your system? CPU/GPU, etc. I’d love to set up some of these using older spare PC’s but generally they’re too feeble.

Also, do you run it 24/7-ish? I only use mine when expecting something to happen or to review footage. Curious about long term stability.

Many Thanks!

Okay – as requested (>;

  1. Here is my hardware and environment setup;
    a. 6 Wyze cameras v2
    b. My PC is 8 years old:
    Intel I7-2700K CPU @3.50GHz
    RAM 16GB
    500GB SSD
    Geforce GTX 1050 2GB (very important)
    PC => Turn on Virtualization in the Intel/AMD PC BIOS (very important)

    c. New Asus RT-AC86U Router
    d. 2500 SQ ft house with basement - cameras all around house
    =====================================================
  2. Setup: (Note: See Youtube videos for detail setups.)
    a. Install, setup and test all 6 Wyze cameras using Android cell phone and Wyze app.
    b. Install “Bluestacks” android software on Windows 10 PC
    c. Get into “Bluestacks” on PC and download from “Google Play”
    “TinyCam Pro” and install. (Cost = $3.00)
    d. Discover each Wyze camera with “TinyCam Pro” and test.
    =====================================================
  3. Bluestacks tuning: (see pictures)
    Get into settings and set:
    a. Display (see pictures)
    b. Engine (see pictures)
    =====================================================
  4. TinyCam Pro change sets==> Cameras per Page and choose (see picture)
    =====================================================
  5. Logon router and do:
    For 2.4 GHz set Enable IGMP Snooping (see picture)
    (This stops camera disconnects.)
    =====================================================
    Conclusion: This setup works great for me.
    Look to “Youtube” for detailed software setups.
    It really helps if you have a graphics card that you
    can off load a lot of the display processing on.
    Also, a second monitor for displaying only the cameras so
    you can do other things on the first monitor.
    You need to have a good PC and router.
    I was not completely happy until I set the router “Enable IGMP Snooping” which
    stopped the camera disconnects. (Got this info. from another Wyze cam user “THKS”.)
    Any questions let me know …
    Good luck and have fun.

Awesome!!! Thanks much!!!

Also, do you run it 24/7-ish? No I only run “tinyCam Pro” for around 14 Hours a day/night for my periodic viewing. The 6 Wyze Cams stay on 24X7X365 recording any events to 32GB chip.

Are you running tinyCsm server also?

Have not tried that yet. Will do sometime soon.

Many Thanks! for all the great settings info and screen shots! I think the one thing hurting the most is a weak video card causing too much CPU strain. Will see what I can do about that!

Hopefully good news. :newspaper: I don’t believed you were hacked. It was Bluestacks simulating an Android phone and Google misidentifying it as a different phone.

I noticed this multiple times and again yesterday, I believe I fixed it.

I deleted the offending, unrecognized device and found I could no longer log into Google on Bluestacks. I deleted both Bluestacks applications I had on my PCs. I haven’t seen the unrecognized phone since.

For me, Google identified the phone as a Samsung Galaxy S8+. I never had a S8+ but owned a S8 for one day and returned it. I changed the google password twice and the S8+ showed up again and again. I did loads of research, nothing from Google. I did find one guy mention Bluestacks as a possible cause.

I haven’t seen any unrecognized device since, but I will need to keep an eye on it. I run Google security check quite often as well as change my password to be unique and strong. It was a good puzzle.

Now I really have no PC interface for the Wyze eco-system.

This lack of Windows Interface and lack of dark mode has left me disappointed. :disappointed:

Wow. That is a bummer.

Does the same go for Dark Mode? :sunglasses:

Thanks as always.

Exactly.

I have run into this frequently also when first installing emulators on a different PCs. If you check the Google/Gmail warning and compare that IP number to yours, they should be the same. Or at least it will report the same state, etc, if no IP number is given. Sometimes I think it shows the brand/model of the new or unknown device and that should match what model you set the emulator to emulate.

Me too! :rage:

I so badly want to view from my Chromebook. Its kinda not cool that I can’t because I’m paying for the services on my cameras. This would be the best thing since sliced bread!
