How come video search with the cam unlimited subscription is not available anymore?
Are you talking about AI Video Search that was a limited-time project on Cam Unlimited while the new plan was still in development? If so, then that’s been integrated into Cam Unlimited Pro, which is still seeing some changes. If you’re noticing the absence as a very recent change, then I can only speculate that they finally turned it off for other Cam Unlimited users when they recently released the new NBD Filter, but that’s just a guess.
Okay that makes sense. Thanks
Seems like a bad move on their part to “tease” existing subscribers with a new feature (making them beta testers essentially) then tell them they have to pay more to keep it.
But I’m not sure how well that was communicated originally since I’m not a subscriber. Just seems like a good way to anger some customers. Hopefully they were clear that it was a limited time, or free preview, etc.
My understanding at the time was that Cam Unlimited subscribers were invited to apply for a seat to test the feature, and a marketing e-mail message describing the test that Wyze sent around that time (which I mentioned in a link above) was pretty clear about the limited nature of the test and apparently was also sent to non-subscribers (otherwise I wouldn’t have seen it), likely as an enticement to subscribe for an opportunity to participate in the test. My argument then was that Cam Unlimited subscribers willing to test (and presumably help Wyze improve) the feature should be able to maintain access to it at the conclusion of the pilot, but I never saw any indication from Wyze that this would be the case.
Clear communication seems to be an ongoing struggle for Wyze.
I think there was an announcement that video search was a feature reserved for the then upcoming unlimited pro offering but giving the cam unlimited people to test drive it.
I used it on Unlimited a few times but this is a big NO for me. If I want to see just Pet or person videos I will just use the event filters for FREE.
Something along those lines, yeah, in the announcement e-mail (IIRC) and in discussion in the topic I linked above.
