V4 power tail vs. v3 power tail - ughhh

I picked up a v4 camera recently to replace a v3 which is mounted under my soffit. Why-oh-why wise engineers (that’s a pun) would you make the v4 power tails about 1.5” shorter than the v3’s? Small cost savings, I’m sure, but did you stop and think about your customers who want to simply upgrade their mounted cameras? Apparently not. Not good. Caused me some rework (new mount/remove old mount). Could have been worse but should have been a simple swap. You can do better.
