Recently one of my black V2 cameras when activated to see the live feed, it will record motion showing a pink flash just after it makes that clicking nigh vision lens noise. I’m pretty sure it’s the IR light flashing because my other black V2 recorded the pink flash looking towards that room. Anyone else see something like this?
Hiii! My camera actually recorded a pink flash after I switched to live stream this morning! I’m glad I’m not the only one. Maybe it’s a glitch?
Now I noticed that my Pan camera did it too! But clearly this is a glitch (bug), in a recent software update. Getting Wyze to look into it and come up with a fix, is another matter because they’re too busy making new products instead of fixing what they already have.
One thing I did notice about this issue is that if I turn off Night Vision mode, then there is no pink flash. And now all my V2 cameras have this issue!
UPDATE: I spoke too soon. Turning off Night Vision mode or the IR lights the camera will still records a pink flash.
Wyze still hasn’t addressed the pink flash that gets recorded when turning on V2 and Pan cameras. They seem to have the time and funds to constantly release new products but aren’t supporting anything. Fix the issues with your products, then make new ones!!!
Since I last upgraded my firmware, this happens on all my cams every day when they power on.
Pink flash with a loud click, gets logged as either motion or a sound.
Really annoying… Is there a different way we should be reporting this to get it fixed? Clearly it happens to a lot of people. If this is what Wyze has in store for us (they break the firmware and then don’t fix it) I won’t be buying any more products.
FYI:
I resolved the issue by rolling back to the previous firmware.
Update your camera’s firmware to the older version 4.9.6.218 (November 18, 2020).
Follow the steps here: How to flash your Wyze Cam firmware manually – Wyze
Reported the issue, hopefully they take notice and fix it in the next firmware revision.
And as I’ve told you before, I can’t roll back my cameras to a previous firmware, as the option to do that doesn’t show up.
Its not an “option”, it’s a hidden/manual process, but it works with any Wyze cam. You just need to read the instructions, and have the ability to copy the “demo.bin” file to your Wyze Cam’s SD card, i.e. you need to have an SD card reader on your computer.
Hopefully now that I’ve reported that the old firmware fixed the issue, they fix it in the next firmware release.
Wzye already knew people had fixed the issue by rolling the firmware back, but they are still doing nothing about fixing it themselves. Why you ask? Because they are too busy creating new products, instead of fixing issues with old ones. There is no reason this issue shouldn’t have been fixed by now!
