MFP has Brains too…protecting his secret clientele from voyeurs and spies. Looks fancy and thinks fancy.
I think he is protecting himself from being viewed on the internet. I have tried to upload many videos of him from the V4, all within the 5.5 MB or less here and none of them will upload. The event video I posted today was 5.0 MB and loaded quickly. Another MFP video of 3.4 MB that I tried to load today would not, it’s a conspiracy
Running Late, 7:56 AM.
I’ve given up trying to upload videos for today from the V4. I tried six different events and none will upload here. This video was 2.32 MB
V3 Video Uploads
Are they using a different codec on the v4 or something? I’ve heard of events not playing on chrome, but you having problems uploading small videos seems like a first, but it keeps happening, so I’m wondering why.
Are you downloading an event video or recording off the SD card? Are you changing the video in some video editor first, I assume to shrink the video to the right size? If so, I would think that it should be fine since you presumably do the same thing with other cameras and those all post correctly. So I wonder why it’s doing something different with the V4 videos.
I think he’s being justifiably punished for using Apple products.
Seriously, though, I think you’re asking good questions, and I’ve wondered if there’s an encoding issue. When I’ve tried to do some manipulation of recordings (pulled directly off the microSD card to concatenate the 1-minute files, for instance), I’ve seen FFmpeg throw errors because of the audio stream in the MP4 container, so I’ve had to account for that. I don’t know if there’s a video file/container format issue that he’s experiencing with the Discourse platform or if it’s something else.
I like that these little anomalies are introduced by Wyze as the grate path of life unfolds before us – because I don’t have enough ARCANE NONSENSE to keep track of.
Both download cloud events and recording from the SD. The videos from the SD usually have to be reformatted and I use WinFF which has always worked great.
The downloaded cloud video I tred today were all under the 5.5 MB limit here and they were not reformatted in any form. I have uploaded a couple off V4 cloud events but it only works about 1 out of ten tries, the upload wheel just keeps spinning?
I’m using a Dell laptop to upload. Maybe I should try my iPad.
Oh, that explains it. So the easy solution is to convert to the dark side and get
I was getting ready to go test it with some v4s on my account, but then it would work because I’m using Android, and I’m not sure I want to dig out my iPhone.
v4 upload test:
Uploading a downloaded cloud event video directly from the iPad didn’t work either. I just tried. I guess I will have to tell MFP the bad news that he can only be filmed with a V3.
That deck-colored kitty is so cuuute! And just taking a few little steps up the stairs.
His name is Winston (I didn’t name him). He’s the feral deck guardian beast, but he allows cooners aboard.
I think Discourse may have an issue with v4 .mp4 uploads. I encountered the same issue as you. Converted file from .mp4 to .mp4 using HandBrake and it uploads and plays fine.
Your ping-to-jitter ratio is all off. Your fault.
Thanks for the new tool clue.
HandBrake can be overly complex if you delve into all the options. For vids that you don’t need to clip/crop, just default the settings, but force framerate to “same as source”.

So can FFmpeg. I don’t use it enough to be familiar, so I always have to look stuff up. Too much other in my simple .
