USB-C Extension 100ft or greater

I need to run lengths of cable to the distant eaves in each corner of my home to power v4 cameras.

What is the maximum length of USB cable for this purpose?

If you’ve successfully run power feeds to your distant cameras using USB-over-Catx, please share your experience.

Not interested in battery camera.

Definitely can’t run USB that far.

If you can’t get power there, then look at the POE to USB solutions, they will run over CatX cable. You inject standard POE power at the start of the run and then put a tap on the other end that drops off USB power.

25 feet is about the limit of USB

This is good working solution, I have a camera 180’ away on this type of setup.

Similar idea to the POE solution, depends what OP has available already and what they want to invest (money and effort), either should work fine.

Yep either will work

POE equipment might just cost more $$ than my suggestion…

POE is my likely choice, as I suspected USB is distance limited.

I estimate ~45ft to from eave to lines voltage for a couple of camera locations. POE seems the technically elegant solution. Other prospective exterior locations are further still.

Thanks for the "Long Run USB Power Cords" link. Dunno how I missed this article when searching the forum.
