But the distinction in this thread is, once having learned the functions, however one has accomplished it, one is expected to have tolerance for RE-LEARNING over and over and over in the name of… PROGRESS, INNOVATION, THINGS-YOU-DIDNT-EVEN-KNOW-YOU-NEEDED-BUT-WE-INTUITED-FOR-YOU-BY-HAVING-OUR-NOSES-IN-YOUR-DIGITAL-EXHAUST-24/7.

Like the OP just wants his tool to be the tool it was for the last X months, his muscle memory sufficient for him to DANCE WITH THE DAMN THING.
And actually, the OP is willing to relearn old tricks, just wants explicit instructions, far more tolerant than I am of this RELEARNING YOUR HAMMER stuff.
True enough. However it could be easily argued that is an explicit/expected price one pays for progress I suppose.
Most of the changes that I have found on the events tab were cosmetic in nature (The Elipsis changing to a pencil etc) and some were functional errors such as iOS failing to immediately remove entries for deleted event clips.
I am sure there are significant “under the hood” changes in the code but I felt Wyze did a tremendous job of improving the visual appeal and presentation of the events tab without making significant usage changes necessary.
That being said I dug up an old Android tablet I had loaded a version of the Wyze app from almost 2 years ago on. It’s remarkable how much of the app has changed and yet not changed in that time. The basic functional flow has not significantly changed. But the fit and finish and presentation has changed significantly.
Just a couple of days ago I found and installed the last Android 4 compatible version of the Wyze app on an old big screen phone I want to use as a console. Very pleasantly surprised how well it worked. Speaking of self documenting, it begins with a couple of mandatory wizard tutorials. The only major feature it lacks is grouping (which is apparently causing problems for us anyway).
The surprising and pitiful thing I discovered is that there does NOT seem to be any Android 4 compatible version of the Alexa app (and the alexa.amazon.com web interface does not provide any smart home controls).
OK, last one and then I go play pinochle with actual paper rectangles for awhile. Sorry for all the CAPS, underwear seems a bit tight…
Imagine Willy Nelson with his old banged up guitar Lucille (or whatever he calls it) that he knows INTIMATELY all its strengths and weaknesses and flaws how it swells in the rain and shrinks in the drought and it just wails for him simply sings because he PLAYS it.
“Willy, while you were asleep, we made some significant improvements to lUcIllE we’re certain you’re going to love…”
Apples and oranges you say, fine, all tech people are crazy, and that’s almost a direct quote.
More of a Whist and Bridge man myself. However I much prefer playing face to face vs the alternatives. Especially if playing any type of Poker for money.
But on point. While I am apparently more flexible on technology than some, I promise there are other areas of my life where I am positively hidebound.
I dislike automatic transmissions on two, three and more wheeled vehicles. I dislike intensely flying as a passenger, much prefer to be at a minimum in the cockpit.
So to each their own as they say. I should love to meet “they” someday.
These last few remind me of driving through Flagstaff, AZ one morning in the fall of '89, for some reason. Stayed long enough to have breakfast, do my laundry and chat with a few folks. The commercial strip was “brassy.” Had to love it.
