Please - Please - Why can they not knock on the door or ring the door bell ??? I know there are some who do not like it, but there are many of us who do not like their packages sitting in the rain or snow !
The only delivery folks here that ring the doorbell or knock on the door is FedEx most of the time.
I stopped an Amazon and a UPS delivery person and asked that question. They said it’s now company policy (it is, at least in the USA, unless signature is required) in the interest of employee safety. Real reason? Saves time, and time is money.
As @Seapup said, they’ll ring the bell/knock on door only if they need a signature.
A dumbass driver getting their ass kicked doesn’t sound very safe for them.
That’s why they sneak up, throw your package and run.

They don’t have to stay for me to answer the door, Just ring the bell so we know it has arrived and leave… Although I guess throwing it and scooting is indeed quicker ![]()
That is why I have a V4 Cam watching my door. The problem is if I turn on Package notification I will keep getting “PACKAGE” notifications until I pick it up and bring inside. Just “Person” notifications works better.
