Tufted Titmouse Mating Display

This morning I was sitting by the window that has my feeder on it, and I heard this awful super high pitched sound (think that mosquito ringtone that some people couldn’t hear)… So I opened the blinds to see what could be making that noise and something flew off.

So I checked my camera and turns out that’s a tufted titmouse displaying.

I also caught that damned squirrel on my feeding station. Now I have to move it.

I had no idea what was going on. :joy: I think he (she?) saw their reflection in the window and was like ‘hey that bird looks GOOOOOOOOOD’.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

And I was yelling at my cat Cooper to stay out of my cat Diablo’s food. :woman_facepalming:t2:

Nah, but I did banshee scream at the squirrel and he fell off. :joy:

They’ve been trying for a week to figure out how to get on the feeder. Quite a few attempts climbing the pole but the cone got in the way. Today, they opted to geronimo off the tree. :joy:

I had a squirrel Geronimo from an overhead power line down to my bird feeder that was about 15 feet down. Saw it shimmy along the wire.
I will give to them. They are resourceful. And persistent.

You want displaying? You got displaying.

“He looks so happy!”

I’d like to see him try that with Bear Grylls.

Download the free app Merlin Bird ID. It can help you identify a bird by it’s song, whether you can see the bird or not.

I have that! I used it this last weekend to identify some birds I wasn’t sure about.

I use that quite often. Sitting in the back yard it picks up hummingbirds over the din of the highway.

I installed that last year. My record so far is 10 different birds in less than 2 minutes as I took my dogs on their morning walk.

I’m going to teach the :raccoon: :raccoon: gang to sing next week.

The only birds I hear talking/singing are the Crows and the Mourning Doves. The red squirrels make more noise than the lazy birds around here. :raccoon: Choir would be great.
