Yes, there should be a user preference for for wither 12/24 hour format, just like most applications. It’s just a pretty standard user preference, any modern app with a time stamp should give the choice.
Remove military time
I wish there was an option to change military time to normal time… I’m really tired of having decipher the time subtracting 12 O’clock from military time just to figure out the friggen time it’s annoying makes me want to throw my phone across the room SMH.
Yes please give us the option to change the time format to 12 hr please military time is very annoying.
Make sure to vote at the top of the topic if you have not done so already to support this one!
+1 for adding 12 hour option
Yep so get to it…
I think a 12-24 hour choice would be great!!!
I can read 24 your format but ya this should absolutely be an option, and it really should not have taken this long or require begging. Even the cheap no name DVR from China I have let’s me change the time format.
Please bring back the option to have 12 hour format. For me, I’ve lived my whole life on a 12 hour a.m. p.m. format. I don’t feel like calculating the time every time it’s after noon.
Not sure what you mean by “bring it back”. The on screen timestamp has ALWAYS been in 24 hour time. Everything else has always followed whatever your phone time settings are.
Remember that the on screen timestamp is generated by the camera - not the app, whereas the time shown everywhere else in the app is generated by the local app on your phone.
That is not the case. My phone has always been on 12-hour format and until this new wyze app came out, so were are my cameras. Once the new app came out all my cameras are on 24-hour format. It does not matter how I set my my phone or my tablet The camera timestamp will always be on 24-hour format. This has been verified with tech support as well.
I think that’s what I said. The on screen (part of the camera image - assuming you have it enabled), ALWAYS has been 24 hour format. No option to change that. Time displays in the app (for example when events happen) follow you time setting in your phone.
For all the years I had my cameras the timestamp on the camera was always in 12 hour. Now there is no avenue to have the timestamp on the camera display 12-hour format as it was displayed before the new app. All my devices are on 12-hour format, every setting I could find on my devices is 12-hour format, no matter what I do it’s displayed on the timestamp as 24 hour. This all started with the updated app. I don’t know what else to say, this is what’s happening now.
What/which devices are you talking about?
The video overlay timestamp on live and recorded footage from Wyze Cams has only ever been in the 24 hr format. The topic of this wishlist is to get the option of changing the video overlay timestamp to be either a 12 hr or 24 hr format.
I’m talking about my Samsung tablet and my Samsung phone. Previous to the new app, the enabled timestamp on the camera was 12-hour format. I never saw a 24-hour format displayed on the camera timestamp overlay before that.
I voted but I like the option to have either setting.
Just to make sure we’re talking the same thing. The on screen timestamp shown below is and always has been in 24 hour format.
Two images from the same camera…
All other times displayed IN THE APP are generated by the app and follow whatever time format you have set in your phone. Has been that way since day 1.
Yes, that is exactly what I’m talking about. I’m saying, for me, it has not always been 24 hour. Either way hopefully they give us a choice to display it with our personal preference. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.
As of now, in the v3x app, I’m seeing microSD card playback timelines for Cam Pan v3 and Cam v4 showing in 24-hour format (), but for Cam OG it’s in 12-hour format (), even though the on-screen time stamp is 24-hour. Oof. More consistency, please!
This doesn’t appear to be the case for the Cam OG playback timeline.
I personally prefer 24-hour time because I think it eliminates some unnecessary ambiguity, and I think the camera time stamps should at least follow a user’s selected phone setting for time format, as the Watch does, but I think a better solution would be just to give more options to the user in settings. Also, if something like this were to be implemented in the app’s settings, I would hope that there would be a global option to set the preferred time stamp format on all cameras instead of requiring a user to select the preferred format on each camera individually. I voted.
By George, you are right. The OG-Tele SD card timeline is in @#$%^ 12 hour format.
In my opinion, the camera timestamp should NOT follow the camera time format. Reason is that if you have multiple phones that log into the account (I have 3), would you want the camera timeline to change every time one particular person logs in? Obviously not.
However, a setting in the app that changes it would be acceptable, and I agree that it should be global. I would not want to have to change 50 cameras one by one!
