Timelapse missing from sd card

I recorded a month long timelapse, only to find that nothing related to the timelapse was recorded on the card.

The camera was powered off prior to the last day set on the timelapse, so the result should have been partial. During the time of the timelapse, the option to “stop” the timelapse was visible indicating that the timer was running.

The SD card does have other data, folders with names: ota, alarm, log, photo, record, time_lapse.

The time_lapse folder is completely empty. The record folder is full of countless unwanted snippets that presumably were from motion events, even though I thought I had those disabled. None of these files seem to relate to the timelapse.

Does anyone know in detail how the timelapse process works and what happens during the timelapse, where the files might have gone, and what happens when the camera is powered off prior to the end of the timelapse window?

The only reason I bought these cameras was for the timelapse and not only does it not appear to be user friendly but Wyze apparently doesn’t have support; there is no number or email address or chat link on their website for support.
