Wyze supposedly addressed this issue with a new app release:
I have not yet taken the time to personally test this. As I’ve noted in other related topics about this issue, I’ve been able to schedule, execute, and download time lapse recordings on Cam v4 even when the time lapse schedule appears to be interrupted when I navigate back to the Timelapse screen before the recording is supposed to run. Hopefully this new fix resolves the lingering issue with what the UI has been incorrectly showing and the actual recording/downloading issues that other users have been describing for a while.
