Wow.
I read something about that somewhere. It just wasnât worth the effort with the money spent. The money could be used elsewhere for something frivolous.
Yeah, Iâve heard it happened lots of places. Still funny.
Truthfully, about the only reason I even have a Recycling bin is that itâs cheaper than a general can, and I get enough deliveries that I can fill it up with just cardboard regularly, so it pays for itself (vs getting another general can).
Ugh. We have green cans for everything, except⌠Green lid -garbage, Yellow lid -recycle, Blue lid -Organics, and any personal cans for unlimited compost.
I think the non-standardized colors is because many locations started with 1 can, often colored to match the disposal companyâs logo colors. When they added recycling and/or greenwaste, they had to use remaining color options for those.
Waste Management here has cameras on the trucks, and you can log into your account and view videos of the bins getting picked up, and the contents going into the truck. We are unincorporated, and still only get single bin service. State law is supposed to require full 3 bin service, with food waste going in the same bin as green waste, but I guess itâs got to wait on the county getting a plan put together, and put on the ballot, and approved to put the waste fee on the property tax bill, to eliminate people having a reason to dump trash in the desert.
Iâll often check out my neighborsâ beautiful fall foliage on my walks around the neighborhood, and sometimes taking photos of particularly beautiful trees.
