Thank You Buffalo!

Buffalo is Canada South and all their brains are frozen,

Nevertheless, they are good neighbours and looks like they don’t like the orange guy.

Careful to limit political discussion, even in the watercooler.

As an adjacent comment, Why are the American instructions and directions so much more extravagant and complicated than the Canadian ones? I don’t know whether to  or :sob: about the difference:

I mean, technically, there are Canadians who live lower south than people in Buffalo. Canada’s lowest border is around 41.68°N latitude, so ALL of these states have areas that are higher north than parts of Canada:

  1. Alaska
  2. Washington
  3. Idaho
  4. Montana
  5. North Dakota
  6. Minnesota
  7. Michigan
  8. Wisconsin
  9. New York
  10. Vermont
  11. New Hampshire
  12. Maine

72% of Canadians live farther south than the uppermost border (49°N latitude) of the [continental] USA. So maybe Canadians don’t like the cold quite as much as we think if most of them are living in the very southern part to escape the cold areas

Canadian scammers are in full swing. I got a letter yesterday from a guy in Ontario who said he was a Divorce/Family Law Lawyer. He said one of my relatives, a Doctor Anthony XXXXXX (My family last name) died and left $11, 550,550.87 in his estate trust. The Lawyer said if I provided them with my personal information including Bank Account Number they would send me my 10% of the proceeds after expenses and fees.

They would have to give me verifiable documentation. I’d make sure they were licensed and registered legally then contact them through registered legal contact info then give them my bank account that doesn’t allow outbound transfers or payments.

Actually, I guess I’d be more likely to ask an AI for creative ways to mess with the scammer. Have it write up believable responses that waste their time and frustrate them. :joy:

Oof. Does this mean I need to change my Profile Picture again?[1]

What makes you think they are Canadian?

I got this email yesterday, at least this guy is more generous than your guy, he offers 50/50 split

Hello

I am a Partner in a renowned Law firm in Ontario, Canada. Apologies if my letter came to you as a surprise but it has to do with an unclaimed “permanent life insurance policy” held by a deceased client.

The transaction pertains to an unclaimed “Payable on Death” (“POD”) savings monetary deposit in the sum of Ten Million, Two Hundred Thousand United States Dollars only(US$10,200,000.00). The policy holder was one of our clients, who were a Real Estate Investor. He was a COVID-19 Victim, who died about 4 years ago. Since His death no one has come forward for the claim and all our efforts to locate his relatives have proved unsuccessful.

The insurance company code stipulates that “insured permanent policies" not claimed must be turned over to the abandoned property division of the state after 4 years.

Therefore, I ask for your urgent consent to be in partnership with me for the claim of this policy benefit, in view of your similarity in our deceased client last name and nationality. If you permit me to add your name to the policy, all proceeds will be processed on your behalf. This money would be split equally, 50% apiece.

I have all necessary documentation to expedite the process in a highly professional and confidential manner. I will provide all the relevant documents to substantiate your claim as the beneficiary. This claim requires a high level of confidentiality and with the level of leg work already done, it may take not later than ten (10) business days, from the date of receipt of your consent. Kindly provide a reachable contact number, for faster communication. We would also like a zoom call/meeting to know each other better before we proceed.

Your earliest response to this matter would be highly appreciated.

Regards
Duke Kobi"

Draw your own conclusion

Personally, I hate the cold. When I decided to emigrate, I had three choices, Canada, US or Australia. I picked Canada but not for the weather.

Come on, you love changing avatars

Almost the same letter but mine was a physical paper letter that came in the mail from Canada. I fed it to the shredder.

Oh no, you forfeited millions of dollars in Canadian Tire money

That’s why I put a  in the footnote.
