Summon the frog, get the peep šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Where did I miss that? This seems exactly like making up a rule in the middle of the topic.

Appointing myself the umpire reveals something about me. Usurping it from me says something about you! :emojis_fail_me:

Hey, Iā€™m gaming hard over here in this thread. Let other people slip on my contradictions and hypocrisy.

Does that count as an answer?

Obviously this thread is TRICKY. It says no questions will be answering the thread, but it doesnā€™t forbid responding to statements that are not questions.

So when a statement and a question are part of the same topicā€¦how do we decide whether someone was ā€œrespondingā€ to a statement vs ā€œansweringā€ a question? And must it be an intentional answer or does it count if it is a substantive answer of any kind, even if not directly addressing the question?

For example, if I ask a question of ā€œWho is viewing this thread?ā€ and someone responds in the thread, theyā€™ve substantively answered the question. Do we allow this?

I appoint carverā€™s daughter as umpire, I am the league commissioner, my decisions are final! :judge:

Post #24 & #26  you guys are so freaking nuts, I love you guys!

They should send us as the team to negotiate something. Nothing important, but something. We deserve a chance! :smiley_cat:

I donā€™t see any magic. My background is still all white. Why did yours turn black?Which part of it is black besides the striped shirt and pupils in the foreground?

The background behind ref, but I have Dark Reader extension active, so maybe due to that. It truly was magic, though, notwithstandingā€¦ :joy:

I still think crease was fiddling. Heā€™s always fiddlingā€¦ :violin:

Weā€™re going to need therapy to work out the repression we just invoked  upon ourselves. :crying_cat_face: :smiley_cat:

I thought this kind of thread IS my therapy, isnā€™t it yours?

Still going for strikes, you ARE eveilllllā€¦

Not that anyone asked (answering a question no one asked removes 1 strike from my tally) but I have NEVER played ANY video game of ANY type EVER.

i believe this qualifies me as OUTMATCHED.

PUTNCHING ABOVE MY WEIGHT!

Woozily doddering about the ringā€¦

DIVE!

LIES!!!

I donā€™t believe that for one minute. Even if you believe it, you prideful, stubborn old frog friend, I am confident I could out-semantics you into being wrong on this one, particularly from a neurological standpoint.

The definition of a video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface or input deviceā€”like a joystick, controller, keyboard, or motion sensing deviceā€”to generate visual feedback on a display device, usually as a form of entertainment, etc. Not all of them require images. There are TEXT based games, RPGs, etc that are still video games, for example. Not all are zero-sum games either.

In theory, while social media platforms arenā€™t traditionally classified as video games, they are often game-like, including, but not limited to, this very thread. The feedback loop of posting content and receiving validation can be nearly identical that rewards of systems found in games, and it is using video on your phone or computer to interact with it, albeit more of a social game, but there are lots of social video games too.

Any fitness trackers (whether watch, or step counters on your phone) can do this. Stock Trading can be gamified. So many things people donā€™t think about.

Gamification (even on phones and computers) is EVERYWHERE. Points systems, likes, tokenization, lots of stuff. Have you never played a slot machine somewhere?

Come on, you REALLY havenā€™t ever played ANY video games? Didnā€™t you invent Bertie the Brain (oldest video game ever)?

peep: Carverā€™s daughter, do you know what Dadā€™s talking about?

carverā€™s daughter: Not a clue, dad goes off sometimes. Well, all the time.
