I setup a new sprinkler controller and had to run new wires from the valves to the new controller. Each valve has a black and red wire. I ran all the blacks together and then to the C connection. Each of the red wires is then run to ports 1-4 on the back of the controller. The device powered up and we walked through the setup. The valves would turn on but are not turning off. When zone 2 came on both 1&2 were on at half power. Is the controller not providing enough power to the valves to turn them off completely? The power supply is making a humming noise and got hot fairly quick. We tried swapping the power supply with a neighbor who had the same controller and still not turning the valves off. Thanks for any help!
Had the same problem. I changed the 24v power supply from the one that was supplied to a wired 24v using connectors on unit. Worked right away. Guess the power supply is not adequate.
