Smart TV app

Waiting for software update on Smart Tv app, so I can see all my cameras from a smart tv instead of my cell phone

I am sorry, we do not have a Smart TV app yet, I am unsure if there are plans to or not. I know users have found other ways to get the cams to show on a TV though.

Welcome to the Forum, @solwire!

Sharing some details about your goals and which platform you’re using might be helpful, especially since a number of “smart TV” platforms/OSs are available. A search of the Forum’s Wishlist turns up a number of different topics requesting TV apps for different platforms, and even without a Wyze app running on a TV-based OS it’s possible to view Cam feeds, for instance streaming through a Chromecast after linking your Wyze account to Google Home.

Well, I have given up waiting on Wyze to give us a persistent view on a large monitor. I’m still here, but don’t depend on Wyze any longer for my main security protection. Still have some installed. Though, I have stopped my Cam plus.

I have three requirements. 1. Local storage v. cloud or just SD cards. 2. View live on large monitor. 3. No subscription.

I tried Reolink and gave up in 2 days. I have bought about $1,000 worth Eufy and still don’t do what I want, but have them around the outside because they do record 4K and rotate very well. Local storage no subscription.

And 18 months after announced at CES 2024, Tapo released their H500 ($149.) hub that contains 2.5 SSD slot and HDMI port for large monitor (or TV). I use their C120 ($30) 2K cam and connect it to the H500 and see 1 or 4 cameras on each of many dashboards. A feature allows me to create a dashboard of 1 to 4 cams. Then I can put them on rotate, so they cycle through different dashboard views and sweep all cams. I will swap out the C120 for their stationary 4K when it comes.

Years ago, Wyze was working on a local storage solution and gave up. That was the words, gave up. And they have not connection means to a large 32” monitor and didn’t have to tie-up my TV, but could. So, while I still like and use Wyze, I have removed them and replaced them with a Wyze-priced cheap cam where I can get local storage and large screen. I just can’t keep my success to myself. But I still like Wyze.

Hi, my goal is to view all my Wyze cam from my kitchen 27” smart Samsung Tv. I have 6 Wyze cam around my house and I would like to view them on my Samsung tv. I’m not too knowledgeable with technology and I’m not sure what you meant about “what platform I’m working on”. I’m comfortable with my iPhone Wyze app and If you have a solution to this situation, please explain like if I was a child. I would appreciate a step by step solution. Thank you

If you have Cam Plus you can view them via Web View on the Samsung Web Browser.

Your initial post and topic title refer to “Smart TV app”, but there are a number of smart TV platforms or operating systems used by different manufacturers: Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku TV, LG webOS, etc. Knowing what you’re using and where you want to view your Cams is important for knowing where to direct you for other information and for suggesting potential solutions. For instance, knowing that you’re using a Samsung TV, we could suggest this existing Wishlist topic:

As with any Wishlist topic, you can visit that one to click or tap the Vote button above the initial post and share your ideas and use cases in the comments to show your support for the product and feature request/suggestions that are important to you.

If you used a Samsung Galaxy phone, then I’d suggest something like Samsung DeX to connect your phone to the TV and run the Wyze app through that display, like @ssummerlin does, but I don’t know if any equivalent exists for iOS. Since I don’t use iOS, I’m probably the last person you want attempting a step-by-step solution for this.

The OP wants to view all six cameras on his Smart TV, Wyze app only shows four at the time. also, he said that he’s not tech savvy so that’s why I suggested Web View on Samsung’s browser. Samsung is using Tizen OS and as far as I know, there is nothing out there that will accomplish what he wants. I know, I have two Samsung smart TVs.

I’m not suggesting that DeX or any other screen-sharing tool would give @solwire all of the Cams on the screen at once. I don’t know if even tinyCam Monitor Pro can do that.

How’s the browser on Samsung TVs? I don’t have any experience with that, but I know that using the LG webOS Web browser is an exercise in patience and frustration, so I shy away from browser-based solutions on TVs if a better solution is available. Even something like using a browser on a PC and then  Casting that to a TV would be preferable to using LG’s built-in browser. Hopefully the Samsung experience is friendlier. :+1:

tinycam will show as many cameras that your tablet hardware can handle. I haven’t used the free version recently, but I believe it’s the same. The only difference is that the free version can’t function as a server.

Pain in the proverbial, probably the same as on LG, especially when using the remote. However, once you’ve managed to get the web page up and running, I guess you can bookmark it. Haven’t used the browser since I first got my TV, and that was only playing around to see what it can do. I don’t use TV’s smart features, I bypass everything by using Apple TV, the best streaming device in my opinion.

Since you have an iPhone, how about mirroring your iPhone to your TV with AirPlay?

Once again, he wants six camera view, can’t please everyone

I can view 4 cameras using the Monitoring tab on my iPad. I feel four is better than none.

Very cool. I will have to give it a try.

Do the 5 smaller screens automatically rotate to the top left or do you have to do that manually?

Unfortunately, they don’t. Any camera will display full screen when you click on it.

Eep. Yeah, and I don’t even remember if I’ve ever tried using the LG webOS browser to load Wyze Web View, because trying to run a browser through a TV remote is a hassle, and Web View is getting even more picky about which browsers it supports, especially with the launch of Cam Pan v4.

That was also my feeling when I mentioned DeX and other screen casting/mirroring options earlier. :+1:

I was thinking I’d seen that it could handle more than 4, but I’ve played with the free version only briefly in an emulator and don’t have any recent experience with that. Thanks for the excellent visual! :+1:
