I wish you could have a customizable NOTIFICATION zone for activities. So for example if at night you want a certain area covered that then you only get notified if someone crosses that threshold etc while still recording activity in a wider view.

I have a V3 camera looking over my whole cul de sac (my house is at the top of it) with Cam Plus. Iād like to have a detection zone that is used to determine what events are tagged and listed in the events list for the camera. Iād also like to have a separate notification zone that determines what area results in phone notifications. So my camera would silently log motion events in the cul de sac all night, but only notify me if Cam Plus detects a person on my driveway, for example.

Iām a day one Wyze Cam client. The first version of the camera had the person detection build in into the firmware by another company. Back in that day, person detection was working like this:
you define a detection zone that motion should trigger recording
If a person is found somewhere in the image (no mater the detection zone), the video was flagged as āa person was detectedā
Fast forward to nowā¦ this doesnāt work like that anymore. The smart object (person, carā¦) must be found in the detection zone area only or itās not detected as person. This lead (for my use case at least) to having to make the detection zone take almost all the screen because smart object arenāt detected if its not part off the detection zone area. 80% of notifications sent to Wyze cloud are useless since its only vehicle that are detected because I have to make the zone so big the street must be included.
Hereās my feature request:
I would create 2 ādetection zoneā for Cam Plus users. The first one is the actual ātrigger zoneā if something move in this part of the image, trigger a recording. The twist would be, we should also have a āsmart objectā detection zone. So once the trigger zone start the recording, you use the smart object detection zone to determine what kind of smart object this video contains. I can guarantee you this feature will pay itself by the qty of useless detections you will avoid.
It would be great to be able to choose separate detection zones for recording and notifications. In a single cam, I might want to record everything that happens in my front yard, but only get notified if anyone steps up near my door.
