Not saying to replace it with a different model, just exchange it for the same thing.
I have two Panv3s running latest firmware and app version with SD cards recording 24x7, working fine. Maybe they had a bad batch or something, but if you’ve already ruled out a problem with the SD card itself, doubtful that firmware is going to fix what seems to be a hardware issue.
Same problem. Only my camera will only read 16gb cards and will not record to them. Tech support said its more then likely the camera but its just out of warrenty so tough nuts to me… they offered me a 5 dollar gift card. Lol.
Time to try a new company… ive tried everything. I think its a software problem. Wish i could roll it back.
The thing is, my older pan cam with different software level works perfectly with its SD CARD.
The new pan cam that I just bought does not work correctly with its software. I just received and installed it two days ago. This makes me wonder if ordering yet another new pan cam will have the same results as this latest one.
I’d be very interested to know if anyone has purchased a Wyze V3 pan cam within the last couple weeks or so from Amazon and did NOT have a problem with SD card recognition on it.
I could always order one on Amazon because they have a good return policy. However, the one I just recently bought that failed to recognize the SD card was just returned. So if I’m stuck, returning a second one within a week that might be a problem.
It isn’t a software issue since plenty of us have the latest software (both firmware and app) and it is working fine. Sure it could be some sort of thing where they switched to a new part and it is not working right with certain firmware, but seems unlikely that they wouldn’t have noticed that, and you’d think there would be a lot more widespread reports of the issue. I would just get another one and try it, no sense in “wondering”.
When I was receiving error messages in the app for my problematic Cam Pan v3 while trying to view from the Events tab, I could still go back to the home screen, select the individual camera’s Live Stream screen, and scroll back through the timeline to review events there. Unless I’ve missed it, you haven’t mentioned here whether or not you can do that, and I think that might help narrow the problem (i.e., might be a clue to whether it’s a Wyze issue or a card issue).
From your screen shots, it appears you have Cam Plus/Cam Unlimited. Are you able to view recorded video that is not an event, i.e. definitely reading from SD card and not the cloud? I think the two coexisting may potentially be confusing the troubleshooting.
Good to know. I didn’t expect it to resolve the issue (which I’d still reproduce, generate a log, and follow-up with a ticket in that situation), but I wanted to get an idea of whether this feels like the older bug when trying to view from the Events tab or if it was also affecting the ability to view tagged events directly from an individual camera’s microSD recording timeline. Thank you for confirming that it seems to be the former.
Hm, that complicates things then. But it could still be an issue with hardware and not being able to index the card or just not fully recognizing it.
But now I’m wondering if it is some sort of conflict/confusion in the firmware or app between SD card recording and cloud recording. I guess it is a risky proposition but what happens if you upgrade one of the cams without the issue to the latest firmware (you can manually downgrade back if needed)? Or I guess alternatively you could manually install older firmware on the newer cam.
Regardless, replacing the cam at least rules out hardware (or confirms it).

Thanks for the process to Flash my firmware, but I think that’s a bit more compicated than I’d like to get into.
Meanwhile I anticipate delivery of my new Pan cam from Amazon today. I’m not at all anticipating that it recocnizes my SD card in EVENTS mode using PLAYBACK like my oldest one does. If not, I’ll return it. Yes, it probably will show video and events if I go to the SD card directly, but it should get there from EVENTs. We will see.
