What is a good free or cheap program to join the 1 minute video clips and trim the file to certain times?
People used to use VLC to do this, but the last time I tried it, it didn’t work well. I usually use lightworks, but I think it limits the resolution to 1080p without a subscription, so some people might not like that for 2K camera like the VDBv2
I’ve heard some of the following are useful:
Online video joiners like VEED.io clideo or kapwing, Adobe express video merger
Open-source options like ffmpeg, MP4Tools, Avidemux, OpenShot.
Mobile options like InShot, Video Merger - Join Videos.
Desktop: Davinci Resolve, Video Proc, Joyoshare,
There are probably a ton of others, and I haven’t tried a lot of the above.
I used clipchamp once, it’s free and seems competent. Search for it. But it uploaded my video to its servers (and kept it) and I removed it from my PC.
I was able to do it with FFmpeg fairly easily the one time I tried. (I also attempted to do it with VLC but was unsuccessful.)
The original poster in that topic used Avidemux to accomplish part of the work but then did some additional stuff using Adobe (presumably non-free) products:
