I just purchased the Scale-X. Nice scale, but I can’t seem to find out how to check the battery level. I don’t see it on the screen of the scale and I don’t find it in the Device Info page in the app.
I don’t think the Wyze app lists current battery level. The app may send a battery low notification and show a battery low icon… I don’t remember. The scale display does show when batteries are low and critical. Screenshot from Wyze app > Scale X > Settings > Quick Tips:
Thanks for the response. Kind of crazy that you can’t check the battery level. How hard would it be to at least add that to the app? The Device Info page seems to make the most sense on where to find it.
I wonder if this was actually a feature in a previous app version and if it was removed at some point.
Since the batteries are just AAA, I guess you could pull them and test them individually, but this seems like it shouldn’t be necessary unless a problem is suspected.
I agree that the Device Info screen seems like it would be a logical place to display this information.
I have only the Scale S, and I speculated about this…
…because the Help Center articles I referenced are all 2+ years old.
I also haven’t ever seen this:
I’ve just seen the error message on the Scale’s display or the Scale starts to act flaky without displaying the low battery error and installing fresh batteries has resolved the issue.
For what it’s worth my old FitBit Aria did send the charge level to the Fitbit app. Since I’m new to the scale market again (because the Body Fat feature of my Aria died), I just assumed there would be an easy way to keep an eye on the battery level.
Speaking of battery levels for the Scale-X, it is marketed as having 22months of life per set of batteries. Seems to good to be true. Are any of you seeing that longevity? (even it’s the “S”) model…curious.
Not seeing 22 mos here because I’m using 1.2V rechargeables. I get about 12 mos on rechargeable batteries before needing to recharge. I’m also not using Power Saver Mode.
I’m not, but I also haven’t given “Power Saver Mode” an extended trial. I’ve had my Scale S since December 2022, and I think I’ve changed the batteries twice since then (so I’ve had 3 sets total, including what came with the Scale). They’ve lasted a number of months but definitely less than a year.
I should also note that the younger cat in the home likes to play in the bathroom and frequently activates the Scale.
I use Scale X only once per week. I usually use Scale or Scale S. The measurements synch between all 3 models so it doesn’t really matter which scale I step on. Scale and Scale S are more conveniently located in the house.
That’s dope. I would’ve assumed otherwise. Is that documented in Wyze’s messaging somewhere? I would think this might be an inducement for people to have more than one if more potential customers were aware of this.
It’s documented somewhere. But some users report problems synching scales on this forum. Perhaps those problems are related to multiple scales of the same model. Or synching over multiple models with multiple users. It gets so complicated it gives me a headache. I’d rather spend time rather solving discrete logic problems.
Thanks for your feedback guys. I’ll just assume at this point that I can enjoy several months of battery useage. I guess I can live with not be able to see precisely what the charge level is, but I still think it’s a good idea to provide that metrics since it’s not shown on the screen either.
