Rules wishlist

Why did all of the rule update get combined?

  • If they were separate we could vote for our priorities.
  • Grouped it says we want rule improvements?

I expect this has been explained a few times, if someone can provide a link that would be great;

I do not think I have seen this “group all automation requests” approach elsewhere.

  • I would like to vote for the “wait time” in automations and also try to convince others to do the same.
  • It is available in Alexa, however there are few camera functions available in Alexa so it is back and forth with Wyze plug kludge workarounds.
  • I now am onto my second power bar just for Wyze plug workarounds ..

I don’t speak for Wyze, and the relevant topics predate my time here in the Forum, but I believe the explanation is in the initial post of Add More Actions for Wyze Automations (Rules) (and also the related Add More Triggers for Wyze Automations (Rules)):

I have also seen from time to time that Wyze has solicited feedback in other topics in order to gauge users’ priorities for Automations features development:

My understanding is that an internal team periodically reviews Wishlist items to see what’s getting votes, what community members are saying, etc., but I have no insight into that process (review/meeting frequency, how things are prioritized, how or when they decide to change a request’s status, etc.). Those of us who are volunteers also try to alert the Admins when we see something that could be changed with a Wishlist topic or might be changed in the future (for example, I recently noticed that Wyze Lock Bolt v2 Firmware Beta Test 5/26/2026 directly addresses Allow users to disable Lock Bolt v2's 5-minute unlocked alarm, so I pinged the Admins and that second topic was changed to Wishlist > In Progress; hopefully that will become Wishlist > Wishes Granted soon).

Yeah, I see that it’s an existing request:

You voted and commented appropriately, so you’re already doing the right thing by bumping that topic and voicing your opinion about what your priority would be with Automations Actions. (Thank you for clicking the “Vote” button!) I’ve done the same thing with some of my own priorities in that very same topic. I think all we can do now is encourage others to do the same and hope wish that Wyze’s priorities align with our own at some point. :man_shrugging:
