Nothing is streaming from the cloud. It’s all point to point.
What ever point my v3s are getting the feed from, needs some TLC then.
The RTSP Docker method works good in Ispy, AgentDvr,Blue Iris and Zoneminder. These I have tested myself and they work fine with the Docker method.
Hi all, jumping on in the middle. I just got my Wzye Cam V3 today. I want to add that I guarantee there are a majority of people (like myself) who get this cam assuming a live streaming setup would be as easy as 1-2-3. WOW–was I wrong. I bet a lot of people who find this out either return the cam, or just order one with an easy setup. I, however, am not that person, haha.
I really want to learn how to get this V3 set up to have a live youtube stream, but don’t seem to speak the same level of tech. I have done the google searches, downloaded a few different programs, but am still confused at what I need to do. Would anyone be willing to give a new user with basic tech knowledge step by step instructions?
OK, not knowing what I do not know, get you a copy of Tinycam Pro installed on your phone and after getting all your cams working in there, turn on its WEBSERVER and config your Youtube channel with the server settings. Tinycam works good on a $40 low power ANDROID box. (Buy Products Online from China Wholesalers at Aliexpress.com) Keep in mind that the PROCESSOR makes all the difference and this one works good for me
$40 is economical for me. However, I run all iOS products and don’t own a single Android device.
They took care of the auth part but the video stream comes from the TUTK SDK which is buried in a sub folder in their repo.
I see there was an update to be sure i pulled the github repo again. I dont think it auto-updates the image after restarting the docker right? Dont see image:latest in the yaml file.
After update, it works like a charm now! Do you guys also have sound on the RTSP feed? just curious.
EDIT: Too fast, there seem to be massive delay. just watched the stream and it was 5 minutes behind…
Hey CpnKirk. Your Android link to a product didn’t work for me. It leads to login page. I’ve tried a few android boxes with tinycam and they failed badly so I use a RPi. Works ok but could use more power. Would appreciate a recommendation.
I have had good results using tinycam pro but I went back to the Wyze app because the things I needed from tinycam were later implemented in the Wyze app.
But I’m more interested in RPi, do you mean raspberry pi? What exactly did you do with the pi?
I have the same issue with it being fast.
bambam I got the $41 Alexpress Android 9.0 TV Box Smart TV Box X96 MAX plus 2 Amlogic S905X3 8K Media Player 4K 4GB RAM 64GB 2.4G/5G Wifi set top box and will NEVER go to the theater again. At the time, the S905X3 cpu was the best rated and I think its great. Do not get an ALLWinner cpu. I bot from this store KimTin Official Store - Amazing prodcuts with exclusive discounts on AliExpress I got the TinyCam PRO installed on my X96 android box and it works better than anything in here (I do not have a Pi or pure linux machine experience). Works with IP cameras, local cameras, wyze cam V and V3 and cell phone cameras. Then just use the Settings in TinyCam and start the webserver and your email notifications. You can even STREAM to your YouTube RTMP channel. The TinyCam webserver even runs in the background of the android box, on a paltry 5 volt DC power adapter…TAKE THAT BIDONE GREEN NEW DEAL!!
[Ipil60R34s: Yes. RPi is Raspberry Pi. I use it just to convert the RTSP from my V2’s to feed Smartthings or Hubutat.
CapnKirk: Good deal. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for the follow-up, @jkmonroe! This clears up my confusion
@Customer, Excellent. Thanks for that work. Big help.
Need to point out something. Your numbered bullets - near the bottom - jump from #3 to #5. Should there not be a #4 or #5 be #4?
Don’t know, those aren’t my instructions and I’ve never followed them.
I just used TinyCam’s discovery wizard and winged it from there.
Has anyone had TinyCam error something like "channel is larger than number of cameras "? Google has no answer.
CapnKirk: I had that error early on when I was setting up TinyCam. It was a while back but if I remember it was from using more than one type of camera and incrementing the channel number for each camera. It seems that you have to start over with the channel number for each type of camera if I recall correctly. I never really understood the channel thing and how it really works since there was little to no documentation.
“Channel” is a misnomer. It’s simply an index.
Camera 1 gets a “channel” of 1, camera 2 gets a “channel” of 2, and so on. The camera order doesn’t matter. Just make sure you don’t exceed your camera total. That’s when you get that error message.
