How do I restore deleted videos that were deleted within the last 48 hours?
No SD card in the camera?
I have never see a procedure mentioned here to restore deleted cloud videos.
Further to this, I have cam plus and my understanding was that they should be saved for 14 days.
? Did you delete the videos manually?
Yes.
Insanely, after a very frustrating 45 minutes, it appears that there is no “recover” method for deleted videos. This, in spite of the fact that support database, web, their own AI, and common sense indicates otherwise. How do they not have a trash folder that you can restore from for 14 days?
I am just not going to delete items anymore…
Nuts.
You’re blaming them because you intentionally deleted videos and now they aren’t there?
If you do not have SD cards in your cameras, you might consider getting them. All of my cameras have SD cards set to Continuous Recording. I will sometimes delete Cloud videos with my vehicle license plates. Possibly not a big deal but I am used to not posting my license plates on Automotive forums I post on.
If I delete a Cloud video but still want to view it, I can go to my SD card to get the video.
Do you not have anything better to do?
I’m not blaming anyone for my deletion. I’m simply expecting that their software and web-based app should conform to what they say it does.
I also have the basic expectation that, like any email client, operating system, and virtually every other app, there would be a facility to restore deleted items, at least for certain period of time.
But thank you very much for jumping in here.
I appreciate you taking the time and the positive suggestion.
Have a wonderful holiday.
Also the size of the SD card will determine how many days of Continuous Recording can be saved before being over-written.
I use 32GB High Endurance Micro SD cards which save about 3.5 days of video before being over-written. Larger SD cards can save more days of video before older files need to be purged.
Thanks again
But they do save them for 14 days. You just happen to delete their copy.
Personally, I haven’t come across any operating system that will allow you to retrieve deleted files without specialized software. I think your expectations are unrealistic.
- I deleted the only video in the only location that I was aware of, on the app on my phone.
- their database and their artificial intelligence indicates that there is a way to restore or recover deleted videos.
- support has indicated that that information is incorrect.
- there does not appear to be a repository for deleted items, contrary to, as stated, SOP for everything.
Where is that info located? Or is this just an assumption on you part?
Nowhere does it say they retain deleted video for 14 days. They retain the videos for 14 days before THEY delete them, if you delete it, it is gone. If they kept it after you deleted it, people would complain it is a privacy issue.
No OS lets you recover deleted items easily. Not every email system does either, nor does “virtually every other app”.
You’re welcome, happy to help.
This would not work if manually deleted. From his link above
Can I recover my videos if my Wyze Cam is stolen?

Updated 2 months ago
Yes, with a subscription and Wyze Web View.
We’re sorry your Wyze Cam was swiped . As long as you have a subscription to Cam Plus or Cam Unlimited, you should be able to recover the last 14 days of events.
To recover your videos from a stolen Wyze Cam:
- Go to Wyze Web Events.
- Log into your account. You must have an active Wyze subscription.
- You can view your deleted cameras’ cloud videos on the next page.
Additional Notes:
- This feature is only available on Wyze Web View, not within the Wyze app.
- This feature only works if your camera has been deleted, and is no longer accessible in your Wyze app.
- Your deleted camera will show up with it’s MAC name, not previous camera name.
- You can click on individual events and sort them, similar to the Events Details page.
- No videos? It’s likely that your camera hasn’t been deleted and is still on your account. You can download your videos from the Wyze app.
We now know that stolen cameras can be registered using another account, thanks to a Wyze bug, so this isn’t accurate anymore.
