Hi there, just yesterday my cam started showing a purple tint? Firmware is up to date, and I’ve tried rebooting the camera.
Any ideas?
Have you turned the IR on and off a couple of times? If so, and there is no change then…
If that doesn’t solve it, keep in mind that this is primarily a user-to-user forum. If you don’t get help here from the community, file a support ticket, preferably from within the app while the bad camera is selected. That will ensure that the logs are captured. You might want to submit the ticket right away because there’s somewhat of a backlog. You can always let them know it’s already resolved when they contact you.
If turning night mode on/off a couple times doesn’t solve it, you can try holding a strong magnet up to either side of the camera. You will be able to get the IR filter to move manually by doing this and you’ll likely see the purple come and go as you do so. If that works, but the filter doesn’t move as it should automatically, then the filter mechanism has broken and you’ll need to file a support ticket to get the camera replaced.
I have seen a few cameras do this when they were bumped, dropped etc and once that was unknown. Unplugging it and plugging it back in resolved all without additional issues. Powering on / off wasn’t enough to do it.
