Purple haze over videos, fluttering pix

I bought 2 v3 cameras. I am not tech knowledgeable but I have had the black and white v2? models and didn’t have issues. I set the first one up a couple of weeks ago when I received it. Yesterday I decided to install the second in the same window. I had a tough set up first, but finally got it working. Today I looked at the events and the newly installed camera showing up as a purple haze over the video and doesn’t look like it’s in color and the pix is fluttering.
I had added this camera to my cam unlimited account but this morning under every video it says to upgrade to cam plus if I want videos longer than 12 seconds!!!
I am a mess with these things. I am 78 yr. old and don’t know what to do. PLEASE HELP.

Sounds like the IR may be stuck. In the past, to correct these types of issues, you would do the following:

  • live stream the camera
  • Go to the settings page (Gear top right)
  • Go to the Advanced Menu option
  • Cycle through the Night Vision Modes (Off, Auto, On, then back to what you has set before). Wait for a few seconds between each option when cycling through.
  • Back out to the Live Stream and see if that corrected the issue

Thank you for your response first of all. It actually worked by itself …for a short time, then error code 023, then error code 20015. moved the camera to another location ( which I had previously used with the V2), I had various problem here, my other 2 cameras were no longer working, my new camera live view was in black and white, and the final blow was a final attempt at reinstalling it…it could not find the network.!!! I surrendered since I now had no working cameras and had to get the others working!! So as of right now it is unplugged and sitting in the bad camera corner until I get up enough nerve to try again.
I will replay …probably will not be today…hey, don’t have the purple haze!!!

Have you tried a different power supply? That could explain all of your symptoms if the cam isn’t getting enough power.

I tried all of that for my floodlight V2 and it’s still flickering and colors are off, seems to work fine at night for some reason?

Sounds like the same type of issue with the IR filter not moving out of the way during daylight. If you’ve tried cycling night vision off and on, some people have had luck getting it unstuck by moving a strong magnet around, but if it is still in warranty, I would get it replaced.

I don’t know what you mean by power supply. I plugged it in where my V2 was plugged, also tried another outlet . I now have additional issues…it cannot find my network!!! I finally unplugged it for another day. Two days of adding and deleting, trying recommendations and I get error codes and the final blow was it cannot find the network. Thank you for your help. I will help it handy when I do try to get it going without it turning off the other cameras.

Power supply is the block that plugs into the wall that you then plug the USB cable from the camera into. Try swapping it with your other V3 that is working correctly, see if the problem moves to that other camera instead, or if you have a phone charger or any other usb plug that says at least 1000mA you can try that.

Thanks for explaining. I will try another. Thanks for your time and help.

I purposefully kept the old firmware installed on my v.3 cameras because the last time I tried to update them I got this same issue, purple screen and flickering. I haven’t been able to figure it out but now I’ve been forced to update because my firmware is no longer supported and now all of my cameras have this same problem.
