I like Irish Coffee, does that make me an iguana? ![]()
Can you dive out of a tree into a swimming pool like @ssummerlin 's iguana friends do? ![]()
āAll the sugar and twice the caffeine.ā I remember that one.
I donāt drink a lot of soda, but I tried the Coca-Cola with Coffee when that was available and think itād be cool to see that one brought back.
I canāt swim if my life depended on it, never mind diving ![]()

Better drain that nice big lake by your
cottage.
Good to know. I planted bushes they donāt like to keep them away, but that doesnāt seem to work.
In Florida, I think by law you have to learn how to swim. Iām only 9.5 feet above sea level. Went to pool since I was a young lad and took lifesaving courses. In the BoyScouts, I got my 1 mile swim badge. We have too many bridges and canals to not learn how to swim.
Can you float ot tread water?
Is it? Not by my ![]()

I hear you. I moved over to Mountain Dew Zero, Pespi Zero and Coke Zero in order the reduce my sugar levels. Trying to stay diabetes free.
I saw another video of an Iguana doing an even higher dive into water the other day, and some guy dove into the river/lake to catch it and the Ignuana was so mad about getting caught. I guess their belly flop dives are more common than I thought. Seems like a suicidal instinct.
Given my understanding of the available evidence, Iām not sure how effective that strategy is, though I sāpose it depends on overall consumption patterns and other risk factors.
Impressive. Not sure why they dive. Are they cooling off or running from a threat?
Some people eat them. It could be a free food source, but I do not see it happening, for me.
YouTube has loads of Iguana videos. One guy shoots them off of trees and grills them on the back of his truck. He called them āChicken of the treesā. No thanks. Snails, frogs
and Jellyfish are my limits (among others).
It has worked for me. I was moving toward becoming diabetic. Also I use Splenda in ice tea. I still eat desserts. Blood tests have shown improvement. Doctor and I are pleased.
Iām glad itās working for you. For some people, switching from sodas with sugar to sodas with non-caloric sweeteners actually seems to stimulate the appetite. Something in the brain realizes that itās not actually getting sugar and doesnāt like being tricked, so they end up consuming even more calories as a result. I imagine that probably happens a lot more often with people who are frequent soda consumers at baseline, though. For the occasional consumer, itās probably less of an issue.
I am glad, too. I heard this affected diet soda drinkers but wasnāt sure abour zero soda drinkers. I remember my boss would bring in a huge container of diet coke every day. He felt he could dr8nk unlimited ounces of the stuff. I still believe in moderation.
I tend to agree with that, as well. The phrase I like is āeverything in moderation, including moderationā, so some occasional immoderate behavior might not be the worst thing. ![]()
I always wear PFD when I get out on the boat.
Not without PFD, ![]()
Not only that, but when the body gets tricked it starts to make sugar to compensate. I know, I am diabetic. I have my sugar under control thanks to medications especially Ozempic. I eat and drink everything. Carbs are the worst, they spike the sugar levels really high.
