Phone not compatible with app

I got a new phone and when I try to download the Wyze app onto it I get a This phone isn’t compatible with this app from Google Play, is it my phone that’s the issue or the app? and how do I fix it?

It’s likely running a 32-bit version of Android, which is frequently the case on lower-end phones even when they have 64-bit capable processors. Numerous Forum topics have discussed this. This is the first official acknowledgement of that particular issue that I recall seeing:

I’ve argued that they should include this kind of information in their app FAQs, but I don’t recall seeing that explicitly mentioned elsewhere.

If you can provide some details about your phone and its OS, then we can maybe help you figure out if that’s the issue you’re running up against. You can also read the topic I linked above (where I pulled that quote) for more discussion, including using tools like AIDA64 to determine whether or not your Android variant is 32-bit.

If you intend to continue using that phone, then the consensus solution at this point is to get an older version of the Wyze app from a third-party source (e.g., APKMirror) and install that. Versions of the Wyze app prior to v3x should continue to run on 32-bit versions of Android (if that is, in fact, your issue).
