64bit processor, but Google Play says not compatible

Just bought a new phone (Oppo Reno11 Pro, made by alps) which CPU-Z says has a 64-bit processor (Snapdragon8 Gen2). Of course, it also says it has an 11’ screen, so it could be wrong.

Went to Google Play to download the Wyze app, and GP says it’s not compatible with this phone.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

While the phone hardware may be 64-bit. The software installed could be 32-bit. This happened to me on an old tablet.

Maybe the phone needs to be added to the allow list?

I have heard of Oppo but I am not familiar with the phone.

Maybe someone will chime in who knows.

Thanks. Guess I’ll contact Support.

Great idea. At least they can be made aware of a possible problem.

Of course it would be great if they have a solution.

While the hardware itself may be 64-bit capable, as @ssummerlin indicated if it’s running a 32-bit version of Android then you won’t be able to install current production versions of the Wyze app from Google Play Store. This topic provides some good discussion of the issue for reference:

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of an easy OS-native way to tell if a particular Android instance is 32- or 64-bit, but third-party apps available in Google Play Store can help you figure this out.

If you find that your device’s Android version is 32-bit only, then your best bet is likely to be grabbing an older v2.50x app from a third-party source like APKMirror or APKPure.
