I no longer get any alerts as well. This is is darn frustrating. The quality control really stinks and I also feel their priorities are pushing new products over servicing customers and keeping products working. Maybe if we get enough people to post on this thread they will listen. I’m ready to bail out from this company if this isn’t fixed.
This has been a constant complaint for as long as I’ve been a Wyze customer (2 years now) and it’s always been this way. Their software and firmware testing is abysmal at best. They keep making ‘promises’ that they’ll try to make changes to improve things but it’s obvious to anyone not wearing blinders that they’re not trying very hard - if at all.
To anyone having issues with person detection since 1/28, here’s the link to the existing forum thread.
I’m part of the Person Detection (Pilot) scheme too. For the last few days I’ve also had no push notifications of anything, normally several dozen per day for my 7 cameras (V2 and Outdoor) The person detection’s are labelled as motion when I review events. All cameras have the latest firmware installed.
I’m sure this is widespread, I’d appreciate Wyze putting something in writing about this problem.
Here, I’ll save them the trouble.
“We’re sorry for this problem.”
“We’re working on a solution.”
“Thank you for your understanding and patience.”
“We’re working on procedures to try to prevent this type of thing from happening in the future.”
Been hearing this for 2 years now so I don’t expect their response to this to be any different.
“Amen to that” brother… We need to look to 3rd party solutions/cures. I just watched a video on YouTube on how to install external antenna on V3… Easy peasy, gives me the opportunity to do some mods.
Sweeter than Honey… The truth will set you free
The Sad part is that I gave in at the last minute and said to bill me a dollar a month for the service. I was one of the original customers from days of old. As I can tell you the Company has scammed us.
I do get your point.
It’s been down 3 days. At $1.00 a month that’s about $0.03.
It’s not so much that it’s not working. It’s the lack of communication from Wyze that’s annoying.
Glad I’m not the only one that isn’t getting any motion notifications. Any updates on this?
Not getting sound notifications either…nothing, dead in the water. Submitted a ticket but have not heard from anyone.
Don’t hold your breath on that one. Based on other’s experiences on this forum submitting a support ticket is not a lot different than dropping dark matter into a block hole.
3 days… Can be very expensive if you are depending on that notification.
We should all know by now that these cameras and sensors are not a class of device we should be dependant on.
They are $20 toys that can be useful but are not reliable. The company is a little less reliable than the hardware.
Yes, sadly but oh so true… The potential is there to be truly great but to be led, one must have leaders
Well tonight at 8:45 I got a motion notification. I went out to the front porch and it gave me a person detection. I’m glad they got it working again. I had logged in earlier and it said that they were going to perform a maintenance update this evening. This must have been part of it. Too bad they don’t have anyone monitoring during the weekend.
Just about 30 minutes ago, we started getting motion & person detection notices via the Wyze app. Have not yet checked all 8 of our cameras, but it seems to be working correctly for us right now.
How can I see that video?
All of mine came back on about 1 hour ago so far its good all 12 back working & sending notifications
all 12 of mine are now working again with notifications
