Person detected events keep getting triggered at night

We have motion sensitivity set to low, and never get person detected events without an actual person on the porch. For several nights in a row we get Person Detected events but the SD card and footage in the cloud shows empty porch, although lots of adjustments in lighting and focus that doeant happen with other events. 2 of the 3 times we have caught lurkers running off the property within the next couple minutes. How could the event be triggered but not capture the Person who was detected?

Another camera device we had , also a pan v3 we threw out for being defective because it wasnt capturing footage in real time and conveniently missing footage when houseless people and those stealing out of the yard and [locked] shed.

When we test by triggering our own events, we cannot replicate. Anyone have similar behaviour and found any solutions?

Could be that a light turned on or off nearby and something else in the frame is getting interpreted as a person.

Do you have “motion tagging” (the green box) enabled? That will tell you what triggered the motion.

May want to try turning the SD card to continuous recording, even if just for a day or two, so you can confirm if there was actually something that happened prior to the event.
