They haven’t released pricing info, but Wyze’s business model is all about keeping prices low and selling lots of units. That being said, Trump’s tariffs have increased their costs. My best guess is $30-35 range.
Personally, I don’t love that idea, because bulbs never seem to last as long as they’re supposed to. I’ve had plenty of LEDs that started flickering and going crazy within a year, despite supposedly being rated to last for a decade or more. I don’t know, I’d just feel bummed to throw away a camera because a bulb burns out.
Anyone know what hints will be shared at 4pm today?
“We’ll also be giving you updates on the new products we’re working on (outdoor hint hint)!“
I don’t think anyone truly knows what the hints will be, but I’m guessing the outdoor cam will be one hint since they said outdoor, probably an update as to how it’s progressing hopefully.
Do you live on a runway?
Or a high security prison?
All I know is my customers can only be stalled for so long, many have had me install the ring flood light because they could not wait any longer.
WyzeMan
They’ve said they’re on track to release it this year. They continue to say that, even now, with the end of the year 2 months away. So it obviously won’t be long
For those who missed the Wyzies, the outdoor cam is expected to be available for early access in December.
Although they are working hard to make that deadline , Keep in mind though that December is not absolute or set in stone , it could change
Right. They said “expected.” Either way, it’s obviously very close, and I’m excited. Even if it’s January, that’s not very long.
The official release, after early access, probably won’t make it for Christmas then
Probably not. But from your perspective, Early Access should be just as good. The physical hardware wouldn’t really change after that point. You’d have the same product as the “official” release. And if you want to buy them for friends for Christmas, I don’t think anything prevents you from doing that. (As far as I know)
Early access usually has a limit on quantity
Ah okay. Good to know.
Probably it’s just me… but honestly I am glad it’s finally coming rather than not at all or not knowing when it could be released Since we’re now talking about it being available in a couple months or so… that’s already pure awesomeness!
Sure I would have preferred to be out like months ago, but personally I’d rather wait and have a well thought out product (hardware and firmware) than just rushing out and shipping an half baked one… so I appreciate Wyze wizards taking the time to get thing right on this and hopefully the math involved there was better than the one involved in pricing the Home Automation Starter Kit
Too soon?
I have 3 Wyze camera and i LOVE them, so easy to use and instal!, I’m signed up to be a hardware tester also! I need a outdoor WYZE I cant wait till you sell one keep me posted.
Did they mention any specs or price range?
No they didn’t
Nope, the previous owner put them in. I’ve 6 buildings with dual flood lights on most corners,
I rarely turn any of them on.
